This "I'm busy" crap only flushes for so long. There's an old saying in the south -- if you want something done quickly, give the job to a busy man.

I expect to have the block back this Friday. It will be all prettied up, ready to do some grinding and drilling on it.

This year I have made a vow to wag more and bark less. But, my secretary has the issue tickled for every other Friday and she's quite diligent.

I have drilled and ground but I haven't drilled and tapped yet.

Walnut shelled block....hasn't been tanked. By the way, please don't tell us anymore about tickling your secretary.

Not going to do what? You mean plug the lifter galleys?

No, going to drill and tap the front of the block for screw-in plugs, along with drill/tap the valley plugs for screw-in plugs.

Not going to plug the lifter galleys....going to leave them open so I can run EDM lifters.

OK, I know there's a debate on the issue. Mine are plugged, but you're the boss on this build....

That's right.

So let me do a little educating....

EDM lifters have an oiling orifice that relies on lifter passage oil pressure. It keeps the cam lobe and lifter face oiled. So you can't close the lifter galleys off completely or that would negate the reason behind the lifters.

I don't know. But you may want to have your secretary to lay off the reminders for a bit.

Hey, any progress is good progress.

However, I've got another 445 engine to do....13:1, solid roller race engine. Since both blocks will get billet cross bolt caps, I may have to wait until the other block is ready to machine so I can knock them both out at one time.

Well, she let a couple of weeks slide by, but she can't go a whole month without sounding off.... So now she wants to know how much progress you've made or if you're just sitting around swilling beer and swatting flies. Now mind you, those are her words, not mine.

Tri-weekly. I bet some progress has been made though. Hopefully he's not relying on the stock market to fund the build....
