Default Kwik-Lift

www.kwiklift.com

I love my Kwik-Lift. been using it for 5-6 years now. Really makes brake and suspension work so much easier and safer. If was the perfect comprimise between a 4 post lift and jack stands.

Last December, some parts of it were stolen. Namely the black lift bar and the two front uprights. I suspect they were sold as scrap metal.

I have contacted the company many times over the last three months; e-mail and telephone. At first, they kept promising they would get the parts shipped to me. Now they don't even answer my calls or e-mails. Not sure if they don't want to sell parts, or if the company is going under.

I could probably build the up-rights myself out of heavy steel. The lift bar would be a challange, though. I still have the two ramps. I can use them lying flat on the ground, but that only raised the car about 4-5". Not sure how helpfull that would be.

The company is located in Broken Arrow, OK. I could just drive out there and pick up what I need. But that would cost me about $400 and 2 days driving time. Anybody live near there? Is the company still in business?

Every now and then I see a Kwik Lift advertised on crag's list. But they usually want around $800-1,000 for the complete set up. I don't need new ramps, and that's the most expensive part.

Or, I might just buy a 4 post lift. Crawling around on the ground to do my race prep is really tough on the old legs and back.

I ordered a few parts from Kwiklift a few months ago and they were reasonably responsive. I know that they don't always have all the parts available powder coated in all colors. They can do it, but it takes longer. I have gray ramps and end up getting the other parts I needed in black because they had those available.

The last time I talked with them - about a month ago - he said they had a pair of end stands in a differant color. I said I didn't care what color they are, as long as they work. He said he would check on shipping, and that's the last word from them.

There's a guy in Wesminster, CO, slling a complete Kwik-lift for $1,000. If he'll take $800, I might drive up here this week end and buy it. My back hurts.

Default KWIKLIFT for Sale

Hi Bob,

I have a KWIKLIFT for sale.

It is in excellent shape, I bought it a few weeks ago. I am having second thoughts as we have four vehicles that rotate thru our two car garage. Both my wife and son park in there when the space is available. Driving on to them is not so great for my wife in particular.

Right now they are stacked in the garage taking up space.

I am located about 40 miles North of Denver.

I see you are located in Colorado Springs.

Maybe we could meet halfway.

Thanks,

Bruce

That's a very generous offer. And I might take you up on that. Is that the red one I saw on Craig's List in Westminster?

I did get a reply back from the Kwik-Lift today. I'm not holding my breath, but we'll see what happens.

This is what Mike said:

I'm sorry for the delay. We have had problems with Fed Ex regarding the lift tube. They keep rejecting it due to the size. I had a Fed Ex rep out here yesterday to look at it and sign off that it is OK to ship. I am waiting on a fax from them and then we will be able to ship it. I'm very sorry for the delay, I have never had problems like this before. I have them scheduled to be here on Wednesday and your items will make it on their truck.

This Saturday and Sunday (if the weather holds) the Mile Hi Cobra Club will be getting together. Havn't had the car out much this year yet, really looking foreward to it.

Default Kwiklift

The one I bought was in Thornton. It is red, one center bridge and approach ramps. There is also one for sale in Windsor, maybe the one you are thinking of in Westminster ? Both W's. Anyway I looked at that one, it was not as good of shape as the one I got. Still it was not bad.

Anyway, let me know if you are interested.

Thanks

Ok Ok I'll be the one to ask it. Where was the lift when the parts were stolen and who steals just "parts of a lift" anyway?

Yeah, I was wondering that too......LOL....and, when you said lift bar, I didn't realize you meant the tube, I thought you were speaking of the small rod used to rotate the tube......DUOH....oh well, hope things work out for you, I "LOVE" my Kwik Lift
