Hmmm, that's pretty good. But the FLCT is a sales tax that just happens to be on cars at the time of purchase. It's not a recurring property tax like you pay on your house and, at least in my state, cars as well. But I'll give you partial credit for an otherwise good reply. |

All property taxes, both cars and real estate, are paid to the county or city in which the property resides. The authority for that is vested in the state and statutorily delegated to these "municipal corporations."
