Default Noise/Rattle Steering Column Area

I've got a Noise/Rattle coming from the Steering Column Area (ERA) when I go over rough patches in roads - sounds like something is hitting on another surface - I'm clueless as to what it could be. The rougher the road, the more noise.

Any ideas as to what to look for?

I had a similar noise, and I found the aluminum baffles on either side of the radiator at the top were hitting on certain bumps. I put some rubber bumpers in between, and the noise disappeared. Good luck

Default Noise/Rattle Steering Column Area

I have a Backdraft and had similar noise that I thought was comming from the sterring wheel area, but could not locate where it was coming from.

I gave up looking thinking it was inherent to the car.

I decided to replace my pedals with billet alum and apperently the noise was coming from the gas pedal assembly.

No more knocking.......

Who would have thought..........

am

I had a noise which I thought was coming from the steering area. I checked the u-joint on my steering, it was good and tight.

I ended up checking my ball joints. I have stamped upper and lower A-arms..I know crappy setup..

My lower A-arm ball joints were way loose. I tightened both the driver/passenger side and the sound went away.
