Is this the same ERA that was at European Motorcars in CT? If so, I looked at it about 1 year ago. I can't remember the chassis number. The alum. sheet under the hood looks the same as do several other features. The color is pretty unique. How many ERAs are dark silver?
If this is the same car I can give you my report offline.

I'm in need of someone trading, would you be interested?

Then, if they were willing to trade and financial side looks OK for you, buy the ERA. The SS and the Z06 sound like very nice cars, but personally, I'd rather have the ERA, assuming it all checks out OK.
Let me get this straight. You are gonna give them both cars and still owe 28k? If that's what this deal entails, you are selling your cars short. Maybe I misunderstood.

Lol yeah that is correct. I told them they would have to do better then that. I also said I bet you will take both my cars and 28k for the cobra. I want a cobra just not that bad. Lol

Really? That's nuts. I will have to reach outnto them and see what they have to say. Thanks for the heads up!
I just spoke with the dealer and his will not budge on his price of $49990 he is very firm on this price and most likely the deal won't happen. I may just have to waitto pay the vette off which is 4 more years and go from there.
There are so many good deals on the forum right now I just can't see paying that much for a car I could buy here for 35-45k. After reading some post by Todd the old owner it seems that car had more then a few hicups but maybe that's typical so we'll see...
I'd hold out for a while if I were you. You've got your hands full with the Vette note, and if you trade, you lose a bunch. The Impala could be worth quite a bit towards the Cobra purchase, only not via a trade. Many big block Impala convertibles sell for enough to buy the Cobra outright. In effect, you'd be giving the Corvette away. Be patient and find the right buyer for the Impala. Almost every Cobra owner here has had to wait for the right time due to the excessive cost.

The family on my Corvette forum think im nuts! They are telling me to hold on to what i have because the Z06 commemorative edition will be worth way more then any corba replica. Is there any truth to that? From what i see they are all in the 40-80k range for a nice BB set up with a great looking car around it. My vette has been deprecaiting since the day i got it. I must say the vette is easy to maintain and fun as hell to drive, i mean what other car has 405hp and get 30mpg on the highway its nuts. People are saying if you have over 450hp in a cobra it wont hook up and at 100mph plus the front end gets super light and has a hard time stopping it self. They are telling me i cant drive in the rain, on hot days and cant take trips longer then a hour? The rain and the hot days i can see but why cant i drive it more then an hour? In fact i dont even drive the cars now i have in the rain and if your doing 100mph who needs a/c lol
but all kidding aside is there any truth to any of this?

The experience of driving a cobra is quite different than that of a 2004 Corvette. The Cobra is more of a thrill to drive but has few creature comforts whereas the Corvette has more of everything all around you. If you haven't been for a ride in one, you should do so; then you can make your own judgment. Every ERA Cobra is different, hand built to what the original owner wanted in his own Cobra whereas the Corvette is an assembly-line car.
If you can, try going to a local Cobra meet so that you can see what you're getting into if you haven't done so already.

Here's a Kirkham Cobra with 700+ HP that was able to hook up at the dragstrip for a 10.XX second run.
Back in the archives and annals of Club Cobra there was a gentleman by the name of "rsimones." He had a Corvette, bought a Cobra and the sold the Cobra and bought another Vette. He was not prepared for Cobra ownership and I think you should think long and hard about buying a Cobra, because they are a very different "animal" than the cars that you currently own.
I used to own a 1966 427 Corvette Convertible with a 540ci engine and sidepipes. A WAY different experience. Also I think they made too many special edition Z06's in 2004 for them to become valuable. I think the ERA will hold its value better now that whoever buys this car won't be the original owner and/or builder.
EDIT: Added link to old "rsimones" thread, though it has been "neutered" by the OP before he left CC.
