A Better Looking MSD Distributor Cap
Not the most exciting thread we've ever had, but you got to admit, it looks a lot better. Yes I drilled that hole in the side and two more in the back that you can't see.

That's funny.
Maybe a little too much gloss and the red tips remind me of your fingernails for some reason.

It's a black satin. El M. picked it out.
Why does every single thread I post bug ERA Chas so much?

I think he's waiting on your "how to" mini series about applying anti-seize grease to the KO's prior to installation.

Don't winge buddy-not bugged at all! Just the general relevance and the concept that the membership will be agog at these amazing scientific feats escapes me.
If you have any left over from the 3rd brake light safety device, how about 8 tiny LED's, one at each terminal post and they light up when the rotor passes by??
You can surely make an eight page WIP thread out of that and add 100 more posts to the count!

Honestly, you should take your show on the road. That's some funny $&#* right there.

Jeez, I just thought a black cap looked better than a red cap. And it turned out so nice, I just thought I'd post a pic of it. Certainly didn't mean to do any harm to anyone....

Much better IMHO, but I don't like the red caps on these cars. MSD should make a black cap (I bet that other one would work by the way).
This is probably a rookie question, but I assume the holes are to provide some airflow and reduce moisture accumulation? In any case, your response will add to your post count and that will annoy Chas.......

Supposedly the air inside the cap is "extra charged" and that's why the corrosion occurs so quickly. MSD advises you to drill a couple of extra holes in the cap to help air it out and reduce the corrosion (which I had to clean up earlier this year).

Which makes you wonder why they don't drill holes in their own caps to begin with. Nothing like selling a product and then telling the customer to drill holes in it or you will have accelerated corrosion.

Can't argue there. Here was my previous thread on the corrosion problem: MSD Distributors - Here's Another Thing I Don't Like
