Some are Purists and only a Cobra built during the famed era would be acceptable. Others are happy with a total reproduction down to the last bolt.

On the other hand there are guys like me that are most happy with a hot-rod shaped like a cobra. I enjoy designing and engineering components to make my body shell & chassis in to some thing that will be fun to drive. I love the lines of my Butler body and have changed very little. But everything else is pretty much up for grabs.

I admire creativity so if you want to play with original shape, stretch it, widen it, monkey with the engine, trans, etc, etc, etc. Go for it.!!! You are a purist of another form. Sometimes you create something great and sometimes you don't.

It's a good thing that Carrol Shelby decided to stretch out the 289 in to the 427 style that we love today. I wonder how many purists of the time saw that as design blasphemy?
