The McLaren would have required a few more piles o' dough.

Besides, the Cobra can be a driver. Most McLarens will be bought, put in a truck and delivered to the new owners home and tucked into a garage to never see the light of day again.

Yep I hear that, I Googled McLaren and got the following comment:

McLaren says the 12C will compete in what it calls the "core" high-performance sports-car market with a price of £125,000-£175,000--roughly $200,000-$285,000 at current exchange rates......
