Mr. Bruce - Opportunity knocks!
Find an "angel" or three and you can own the legacy outright.
Cheetah again joins ranks of the deceased at Hemmings Blog: Classic and collectible cars and parts
Quote:

...If you think the prospect sounds viable, you can pick up the whole works – a couple of complete bodies and tooling to make more, chassis jigs, various parts and the rights to the design and name, though it does appear that Bill Thomas only authorized a limited number of continuation cars (the auction mentions that “67 letters” remain from Thomas). The online auction opened at $120,000, but ended without a single bid. The fate of the Cheetah’s future hangs in the balance

What about the Nash Metropolitan, Ford Pinto or AMC Pacer?
The Cheetah is gorgeous compared those.

I think the Nash is a cool looking car.
With a few mods they're pretty quick too. This one (The Metro-Nator) will do the 1/4 in 6 seconds. Maybe your just jealous.

was a loosing proposition for GM when the car came out.......
it is only worse now, with slim to no history the market would mean what?

Do you have anything resembling a business plan, or is this a labor of love?

Always loved the looks of this car, just because of what it was capable of built for the 1/4 mile.Years ago one of our regulars at our local strip had one of the beasts powered by an alki big block.Everytime he fired the thing up for a run the whole place watched. All I ever thought of watching him aim and launch it was the Wild Fuel Altereds of the 60's.As I remember these cars were VERY light, the driver literally sat on the pumpkin. Will be watching to see how many commit.

this is little more than a bench racing thread, I have the facilities in place to build the cars, but, NOBODY ,would invest in a phone call, let alone, $10k. ( back to our regulary scheduled programe)

I love the car!
I was at the PHX facility and was given a tour of their works. A true replica of the original car. They had one original there as the model.
If I only had the money!

I simply refuse to believe 220MPH-anywhere-in the form seen here. 180 would shock me.
