My thoughts & prayers our with the Dan Weldon's family and racing community for the loss of Dan in a Indycar race at Las Vegas Speedway today. A great young man and race car driver.

My thoughts and prayers are with him, his family & friends as well. I met Dan back in his Atlantic years and he was one hell of a competitor. He will be missed.

Thought ABC & the announcers handled the situation very professionally , especially during the 5 lap tribute by the drivers......they kept quiet and let the video convey the feelings of those at the track on a personal loss. Sad, emotional ending for the last race of the year.

Wow, what a shame. These modern high banked tracks and Indy cars are lethal. Watching the video, watch how fast several of the rear cars are still going seconds after.
