Those who say that the First Amendment shouldn't apply to another because they don't spend enough money deserve to be called names, or worse.

If I were to ever own an original Cobra, it would be a car like CSX2557.

BTW, 2009 has a far more robust race history than 2557

There is no First Amendment here.... you discuss in a civilized manner.
Thanks

You have some nerve critiquing somebody's real Cobra when all you own is a replica.
If it makes you feel any better your not alone as there seems to be a lot of guys out there like you.
Fortunately not many of them own real Cobras.
|
How is that any better than name-calling?

Yeah, too bad CSX2009 doesn't exist anymore.

Get a clue, jeffy! You really think your ERA is "as real" as 2009? You don't know the entire history of 2009 from day one! Are you an expert on the rebuilding of that car? The family has owned that car for over 35 years and was put back together the way they wanted it. These 50 year old plus cars go through numerous changes over their life span. I'll bet very few of them look like they did when Carroll originally sold them. CSX2009 is an awesome car and restored (to the owners liking) to perfection. If you have seen this car in person, (which I have) you might understand. How could you even compare your ERA to this Shelby? You just plucked a feather from your silly little hat!!!
Add my .02!

What he did was worse, IMO. Get serious. The amount of money I spend on toys determines whether or not I can express an opinion? Total BS.

Yeah, they're both replicas. I like mine better. You can call "CSX2009" "real" all day. Doesn't matter. It isn't. It's prettier than before but it is now just a fantasy. Free country, they could do what they want. But you don't paint a copy of a Rothko over a ruined Jackson Pollack and call it "real".

All I got to say is that I wish this thread was being discussed over on the SAAC Forum. I'd sure pay to view this discussion over there.
I've seen some real carnage over there and this thread would be like a dead carcass to a hungry bunch of vultures.

BTW, the disparagement of the history and of course value of anything could have legal consequences, but I'm no attorney.

At least it has a round tube chassis!
(Eric, regardless of some people's opinion, CSX2009 is, and was, a great car! Your family should be proud of it!) :D
Done!

Knowingly telling lies meant to disparage might carry some liability, but extremely unlikely on an internet forum where it is assumed one is expressing an opinion. Anyway, I have absolutely no reason at all to think that anything I have said is untrue in any way.

I think I've made my point re: "2009".
And to be clear, I don't think much of elitest BS, anywhere, anytime. And I'm not backing down on that.

WOW, I have heard and seen a lot of guys argue over which replica Cobras was more Real but this guy out did them all by telling us his replica is better than an original.
Do I have news for him not only is it not better or nicer than an original it is not better than the tagged "REAL ONE". in NJ
(which by the way is a Shelby.)
Since he is into originality I wonder does he have a 3" or 4" round tube ladder frame?
I wonder the thickness of his aluminum skin.
I remember a guy came up to me at a track event at Watkins Glen and told me how his replica was nicer than mine. (probably was as I was into going fast rather than talking fast but that's another topic) I asked him where his "better than mine" Cobra was. "I didn't bring it" That guy was a Moron and others just like him are Morons also.

jeffy, since you are so close to Watkins Glen, are you planning on coming to SAAC 37? Oh, SAAC means Shelby American Automobile Club. But all replicas of Shelby Cobras are welcome to attend. And don't forget to bring that "more accurate than CSX2009" ERA with you! Looking forward to seeing it!
