It's Back... Aluminum Bodied FFR
Remember this one: Replica/Kit Makes Replica/Kit Makes | eBay
A little different now. This has got to be the worlds most expensive FFR. Just had to share it. Regards, Matt

I used to have pictures I took of an FFR with an aluminum body here in Orlando. That was a few computers ago. Rough.

I like the splices in the sides. they add a really nice touch! 125,000 is totally reasonable. :O

HA!! AND, they ran out of polishing compound on the rear. I did notice the splice in riveted panel on the sides. They did get a lot of the original dents and dings out but there is one big on the passenger door. If you were going to do a "theme" car wouldn't you have made it into a Frankenstein cartoon car? Just saying... This car has always baffled me in too many ways.

I believe I will dare say it, Rat Rod style meets the cobra.

I remember when FFR tried to fit the Kirkham on their cobra and when they decided its cost was prohibited it was sold to a collector in Florida which means it has changed hands at least once before. I have seen polished Kirkham’s sell for around $95,000 with no obtrusive paint and a black leather seated complete interior.

Just think of all of the beer cans that could have been made out of that aluminum. Instead they butchered a perfectly good 427 body & installed it on a sub-standard, small-block powered car. What a shame.

The only thing uglier is the orange monster cobra wanna be that Russo and Steele have slated for auction this Jan. (It on their website) I am not sure who would paint a cobra that color orange but to each his own I guess.

Wow, you guys are brutal. I agree, $125,000 is crazy money for this. But I kinda like the paint scheme. I like the graphics better than a plain polished one. I think it fits the P-39 Airacobra theme - that was a crappy airplane. But the bomber seats, all the rivets, the nose art - it does follow a theme. And I've seen a lot of other repliCobras here that I thought were pretty poorly done that i just kept to myself. You know the saying - there's a seat for every ass.....

I agree. Maybe overpriced but it's kind of neat - a theme Cobra. I suspect the splices and rivets in the side were in keeping with the theme. And the FFR chassis with IRS is certainly stout and competent.

Buzz,
Not only do you have a way with graphic arts, but you
clearly nailed this one with your tactful and diplomatic
words.
If you don't like the car then simply state its not your cup a tea
and move on. Nobody likes to get their Cobra trashed
amungst their piers. I'm sure there's plenty that don't
care for mine and that's fine as long as they keep the
negative comments to themselves.

I don't think it's that bad and kind of like the paint scheme. The only thing that is laughable is the asking price, but I guess he doesn't really want to sell it.

The higher the asking price, the more critical the scrutiney. Lots of pent up feelings exposed in this thread. I agree with Buzz, FFR has much more earned respect and I don't see too much of the brand beating that I saw several years ago. There will always be that extra bit of deserved pride that goes with building it yourself, but it is sad when it becomes a point of contention between the good folks on this forum. It is also troubling how assumptions are made on here without facts. For all we know our cobra buddy was told to sell it by the wife and the only strategy he could use to keep it was to ask an outrageous price. Maybe he needs a hug?

I agree with not trying to bash another ones Cobra and to each their own. I was really just astounded by the price. Even if it was made with titanium muffler bearings and unobtainium, it would still be over priced. As others have said, the main jabs are from the asking price. Nothing against FFR's either. I've seen some pretty incredible builds with these cars and at the price he's asking you could buy 3 FFR's. I think everyone believes their car is worth way more than what it should be just because we are all passionate about cars. I just think some get overzealous sometimes. Who knows. All I know is if he doesn't sell it wasn't because this thread didn't give him enough inquiring minds... I have no ties to this by the way! Regards, Matt

Orange County Chopper has made a wealthy career out of building "theme" motorcycles - and it sounds like a lot of them sell for $100k plus. I think it's OK to build a theme car. We don't need to many of them - but every now and then it's kind of interesting.
