How much HP to do a wheel stand?
I'm just curious.
How many of y'all can lift the front wheel off the ground and what HP do you have?
Pictures would be cool.

Doesn't take much with some good tires and a good launch....~450hp in a Fox Mustang will pull the tires.

It's more of an issue of having wrinkle wall slicks than horsepower. You could have 2,000 hp and without slicks, you will never pull the wheels.

Just an FYI, a cobra can wheel stand with less than 400 rwhp. It just requires proper suspension (such as 90/10 shocks up front), gearing (such as 4.11 or numerically higher),and traction. Cheers.

I will never forget, about 15 years ago I was at the NHRA drags in Petersberg VA and there was a guy there with a highly modified car in the gas category. He popped the clutch and pulled the wheels way up fast. Maybe 8 or 10 feet high. As he was accelerating up the track maybe ten or fifteen feet out, the wheels started back down fast. He bangs second gear and even though the wheels were mid way down and falling fast, he pulled them all the way back up again in second gear. I never saw a car with the wheels falling fast pull them right back up again midway though the fall. I was impressed!

As many years as I have been at the drag strips and seen all kinds of cars pull the front wheels.Up to a point is Okay beyond that the coming back down can destroy a lot of parts.Without enough torque and the savy to catch it before it slams down I guess experience is the best teacher.

As stated above, it is not so much horsepower.
More about the car being designed to hook from a dig. The suspension on most Cobras is really a compromise to do everything well, just not great. Reactive springs up front to plant the rear, a live axle rear with a 5 link suspension, skinnies up front...etc would be the ticket to "Hang 'em High".
