Default door latch needed

I am looking for a drivers side door latch,
Just need the latch that has the lever on it.
Hoping some one here may have a broken set laying around.
Any help appreciated.

We always buy the latch/strikers in sets, and the most frequent failure is the latch. Finding a single latch for little $ isn't easy. I see that cobrarestorers.com has a separate listing, but it's not cheap.
Usually, if the latch comes apart, it's repairable if you get creative.

Thanks,
this one has been my shop set for many years, one of the mounting ears has broken off.
Looks like when I place my next order I will add an extra.
Just like to use up what I have if at all possible.

So, you're not talking about the latch, but you need a striker instead. At least that's cheaper.

No Sir, need a latch. All good for strikers

Here is a picture of a latch, (not the one in question), Top left mounting lug broken off (red circle), all the outside shinny bits are okay, just the main latch chassis needed.

Could you just weld a piece of steel to the corner and machine it with a Dremel?
Weld it on, grind it flush and drill the hole? I have done this on pieces of equipment and it worked fine.

Good thinking, but the material it is made of is a pot metal/die cast, tricky to weld at best.
Plus I don't have any compatible rods to give it a try.
