Default SAAC 37 What can I expect to see?

Hi! It has been a long time since I have gone to a SAAC event. I believe the last time I was at Watkins Glen was for SAAC 18, 1993. I have gone to a few after that, but I don't remember the exact ones. The one in 1993 was pretty neat. I was able to see a lot of neat things, swap meet, open track and the car show. Someplace I have a lot of 35mm pictures. When I went to that one I was mainly interested in the GT 40. At that time I had recently purchased a West lake head setup. At that event there were a few cars with the West Lake setup. Lynn Parks in a blue cobra and not sure whose white GT 40, the owner was from Japan. He didn't know much about the engine as he had someone from the states working on the engine. He had just flown in to drive the car. He was a nice guy, but didn't know much about the engine specs. We ended up putting our setup in a 65 Fastback.

This years purpose to be going, other than maybe getting away and to go to a car event, I haven't been to any in a while, would be to get some good detail pictures of any one of the 6 original Daytona coupes or a McClusky car. My current project is scatch building a Daytona coupe using Chucks plans. I need to get a lot better detail shots than Chuck can provide me with. I know there will be plenty of other cool and nice stuff there. Does anyone know if there will be any original type Daytona Coupes there? It will make the decision to travel a lot easier. Mark

I am sure somebody will know if any originals coupes will be at SAAC 37. I also remember SAAC 18 and IMO it was one of the best conventions ever.Maybe it has something to do with WGI being a track where Cobras and GT 40's actually raced back in the day.
Lets hope that a great number of them return this year.(real ones)

This may help.

Shelby American, 1964 - a set on Flickr

Just go, record concours this year! The only coupe that has not been restored is Phil Spector's CSX2287. Go see it in PA....

Thanks Jeff . Someone at metalmeet.com sent the same link to me . Lots of good stuff there but not the same as looking at the car and taking pictures. I was hoping that one of the original cars or a McClusky coupe would be there. I need to look inside of the rear wheel wells and under the car and how and where the sheetmetal is attached . I need stuff you normally dont see in photos of the coupes. Mark
