Default back-up camera as rear view mirror

I'm just wondering if using an RV style back up camera would work as a full time rear view mirror.
I was thinking about getting a water ski mirror, but some of those cost almost as much as a camera system.
My rear visibility is really bad when I have my soft top on.

has anyone done this?

As much as I like back-up cameras in modern cars, I'm afraid I might snicker a bit if I saw one in a Cobra. No offense intended. That being said, I'm no sure that would be legal to replace your rear view mirror with a flat panel diplay. Also, I think you'd find that with a camera your field of vision will be further reduced, and grainy or washed out as is typical in even the most modern back up camera systems.

What about a blink mirror? (Wink mirror?). These are the full windshield width bars with multiple mirrors. Design it to come off with the top, and you score extra points for coolness.

Roger, go to PEP BOYS, they have a couple of mirrors that are convexed. They are about 11" long and will clamp right on your dash mirror. I bought one and it is great, you see everything from your back fenders side to side. Also, if you have side mirrors pick up a 3.5-4" dot convexed mirror and put it on the passenger side mirror. You will see everything from the back fenders forward

Also if the sun was reflecting off the screen it would be difficult to see.
