Carroll Shelby decal
Hi all. Maybe I missed the postings, but I recently have seen Cobras with a decal like the one up in the Cobra Club banner "In Honor of Carroll Shelby"
Can anyone tell me where I can get some of these decals? Cheers Greg |
I see them free with an order at the Shelby store. I would call Shelby American.

Thanks Ralphy.

I sent Shelby American a message to ask if there is a dash plaque available. I'll call if I don't hear back.
|
That would be cool!
|
Dash plaque, patch, and decal would be a great fund raiser for Shelby charity.
|
Glad somebody asked this question because I was curious myself. What I really think would be cool is a black ribbon about 1/2"-3/4" wide with "Carroll Shelby 19?? - 2012" that I could tie to my roll bar.
Of course, the dates would have to be correct... DD |
I left a message regarding a dash plaque at the Shelby American Merchandise website. They said thanks for the suggestion, but there is nothing in the works at the moment. I tried calling him to discuss this, but I got his voice mail. At first I thought we could start a campaign and leave messages to show an interest, but then I thought I would just speak with him first. I was thinking perhaps a $25 donation to the Shelby Foundation would be appropriate. I believe I recall that was what he was asking for signatures many moons ago.

I would e in on that, keep it going...

Hi all. Good interest here.
I'm going to try printing my own decals off my desktop. I'll let you all know how that works out. And dash plaques can be produced for about $1.50 to $2.00 each in lots of 100. An embroidered patch may not work as the detail/resolution wouldn't be there to duplicate Carroll's face etc. But I have seen a blackline profile of Shelby wearing his black hat that would work in embroidery. And I don't want to violate any of Shelby's licensing requirements. Something to play with over the next few days. Cheers Greg |
I like the idea of a commenorative decal and I would want to know if they are static cling (easily removable) or are they more permanent types. If you have that info please post.... thanks. :)

I got two of these decals + 2 Shelby pins at Carlisle this past weekend for a $15 donation to a Cruise for the Cause raffle (Three tickets to the raffle). The raffle includes a 2013 Barrett Jackson trip. Could not find any website that listed the raffle. The table was at the official Team Shelby display and Gary Patterson was right there so it was legit. :D
The decal is a normal sticker. I was really hoping they would have a magnetic backing. (Not that it would stick to a real cobra or my Replica  ) I ended up sticking them on the top of the posts on my lift in the garage. The official Shelby T-Shirt tent was not selling them, a real miss if you ask me. They could have easily gotten $5 a piece for them and sold thousands. If they turn this into a magnet, I'll still buy a few. Banners, magnets, Tin signs, car shop fender covers, Tervis Tumblers. I think there is a huge opportunity to add money to the Shelby Foundation heart fund. JB |
I'm gong to SAAC-37 this weekend at the Glen. I'll check if they have memorial/tribute merchandise and talk to them if they will be offering it on the merchandise website. It may be too early yet. I emailed the special projects person at the Shelby Foundation a little while ago about a dash plaque/patch. I'll update with info as I get it.

Bxx1... Got the Bug... A static cling sticker would probably be more popular.

I noticed your avatar, Dan Gurney for President. I saw one on a Daytona Coupe at the Buffalo Motorama here in NY. Apparently, they're a bit of a collector's item. BTW, must be a blast tearing up the roads up there in the Alps! I can just imagine the scenery too. |

Eagle-eye: Patches & Stickers I got them signed years a go :) |
The older Mr. Shelby got, the more expensive his autograph.
I have a few but got one "personalized" for my birthday. It is priceless to me but unless somebody is named "Russell" it may be less collectible. He was written up in several medical journals about having a heart transplant from unknown donor and his son's kidney. |
