Did anyone look at the pics? Why would one go out of his way to make a correct looking 289 to stick in a 427 body?

Maybe so it would look like a AC 289 Sport. More scarce than SC's

Default Dave Wagner's AC 289 Sport

Dave did build this car to simulate an AC289 Sports (except for chrome wires). It's really sweet.

You don't have to run wire wheels on an AC 289 - they came from the factory with splines for wires and bolts in the pin-drive holes for alloy wheel use. Believe it or not, some owners have even taken those bolts out, thrown in some pins, and are using alloys on their cars. What will they think of next?
