...driving gloves? ...Really?

CoolCarl 12-18-2012 02:38 PM

Great looking car.

Why cover up the sound of the engine with background music?

DougD 12-18-2012 02:51 PM

Sweet ride!

Well done, hopefully Rob (aka:superspeeders) does not rub off on him

dcdoug 12-18-2012 03:48 PM

Looks good, sounds good. Ditto on ditching the music once you start the engine....I'd much rather listen to the pipes.

DanEC 12-18-2012 03:56 PM

Yeah - I normally don't like music dubbing on a video but it's hard to not like a little Ted Nuggent. Nice video. Nice car.

GRUF78 12-18-2012 04:33 PM

Not Ted Nugent...jezus....

GRUFF

Sweet Emotion by Aerosmith. A little dated for my taste.

Yes, driving gloves, really?

In CA, that would be considered a sexist license plate blank.

Tutosnake 12-18-2012 05:28 PM

Nice ride.
Hey Real 1, I use driving gloves as well. These guys don't know what they are missing...

Is that a red Ford GT I see reflected by the headlight at about 0:40?

Very artsy. Is "son" still a kid, or is he fully grown? That's nicely done.

REAL 1 12-18-2012 06:56 PM

1. Driving gloves are classic Cobra attire. See Bannon in Gumball.;)
2. Correct. Classic Aerosmith. Classic rock for a classic muscle car.
3. Yes, you did spy a Ford GT in the reflection. Nice catch.
4. Patrick, thanks. Son is a Junior in college and started his own automotive " blog" on Facebook that seems to have taken off.

Glad you guys liked it.

twobjshelbys 12-18-2012 07:18 PM

P.S. Great taste with the GT !!! I love mine.

P.P.S. Thank you for your service to Our Country. I got fed up with the holiday gift gathering at work and decided to give all of my Holiday charity contributions to Wreaths Across America.

I'm going to have go buy some. The Shelby Bash track time requires them. Contrast Shelby and Bondurant

long pants - shorts OK

long sleeved shirts - t-shirts OK

closes toed shoes - sandals OK

fire extinguisher - Huh? Are they kidding - no driver will use it they'll just bolt (maybe listened to Bill Cosby too much)

gloves - What? Really?

The only thing they agree on is a helmet.

REAL 1 12-18-2012 07:31 PM

Tony: don't thank me. It was my dad that served. First Ranger Battalion WWII. I'm just a Ranger fan and junkie.

Thanks for giving though. It's important. Saw an old Marine vet sitting by himself in Ihop. Saw the Globe & Anchor tat on his forearm. ( clearly WWII from his age). Walked up and thanked him for his service. He lit up like a Christmas tree. It was clear it meant a lot to him that his effort was appreciated. It's the least we can do.

Those guys saved civilization as we know it. I don't see many that age any more. My favorite was my Code Talker - one of the original 29. I was also saddened by Sen. Inouye's passing this week. I didn't always agree with his politics but as a Medal of Honor winner he got my respect. And all the presidents Salute.

Love Yogi and Booboo.
