Anyone seen / heard Rick Lake??

Realized Rick hasn't been around in a while. Hope no health issues.
A professional hands-on guy with a heavily-raced ERA and Shelby blocks-he always has a lot of tech to contribute.
And does that unselfishly.
We really need tech-savvy guys; hope all is well and he shows up.
Anyone been in contact?

mrmustang 02-02-2013 05:09 PM

He was logged in yesterday, maybe just has not had anything he wanted to respond to since early January.

Thanks Bill.

Oh come on now. That was very humorous.

RodKnock 02-02-2013 07:54 PM

Would have been better if Jay had said he was trying to figure out how to start a new paragraph.

I saw that first hand at the last Run N Gun. He drove 1,400 miles each way and spent the majority of his time helping other guys (including me) instead of driving his own car.

That's a rare breed these days.

ERA Chas 02-02-2013 08:48 PM

He always starts with the OP's first name. Then manhandles the OP's mechanical problem into submission.
What I love about him are his very clear-cut, detailed technical explanations. He always tells only what he has first-hand experience with. No internet fol-de-rol.
He sometimes ends by providing his phone number; something NO ONE else I ever saw here does.
To second Dallas' point, how about when he dragged 747Jockey's (where's he been??) hulk from LI (or Rick's Jersey home, I forget) to freekin' Michigan and Coombs place-alone and for free??

macloft 02-02-2013 09:12 PM

They agree

Is this the first time Patrickt/ RodKnock and Chas have agreed on something. Rick u are a legend.

OK thanks-that's great news.
Now we have been warned! %/

Cashburn 02-03-2013 08:22 AM

No doubt, Rick is a legend. One of the most helpful people I've ever met. Glad to hear he's good and busy.

joyridin' 02-03-2013 08:50 AM

Here is a PM from Rick when I had a problem some time ago...

"I am not selling anything, but will help you". He went on to explain what I needed to do.

What a great guy!

john chesnut 02-03-2013 09:13 AM

Rick is a great guy. I met him at my first Run n Gun in 2001. I was a complete novice and had major mechanical problems. I pulled my engine 3 times at that event. He helped me into the very early hours. Knowledgable too.

Gregg(What's his name)? 02-03-2013 09:49 AM

Rick,

Is a great guy and is always available to help. The world needs a few more like Rick.

rodneym 02-03-2013 10:50 AM

Rick Lake gave me some great advice from his experience with Paxtons.
Tons of great info. A real class act.

I'm here, STILL alive and kickin'!

More importantly. Rick is one of the most helpful, genuine, tremendous guys I have ever had the honor to encounter. He did haul my car from New Hampshire to NJ to Michigan. I have no words to describe Rick - he's just a awesome guy. It's my privilege to call him a friend.
