I sometimes call mine the "Anti-Prius". Just cannot make it fit on the license plate.

Society probably needs one Prius on the road for every Cobra, to compensate for the big carbon foot-print we leave. I get 7 to 9 mpg!

Had mine for over 20 years and still get lots of positive reactions - even the beggars at most robots (Traffic lights to you Americans) and stop streets on main roads in South Africa forget to beg and comment positively If the light is slow to change they want to know all about it and ask one to put foot when it changes, this I am happy to do if traffic allows .

I really enjoy reading these comments. My car is still not quite to the roller stage but already it gets lots of attention. I've had neighbors that I hardly know stop by to look at it because they heard about it and saw me in the garage and stopped. I learned that I have a Grand Am race car driver living about 8 houses down the street from me for years and I didn't even know that. We've become friends and, in fact, he borrowed a truck and race car trailer and did the road trip with me to ERA to pick up my car. Obviously, he's a wealth of knowledge and I've enjoyed getting to know him. My kid's friends now think they have a cool Dad and a few of them have stopped over to see the car. All of this because of the Cobra and I'm just barely getting started...

So true about the cobra drawing so much attention.
My wife and I stopped by The Lodge at Pebble Beach for a drink and the valet guys had me park out front with the high dollar cars. When we came out, the crowd was surrounding the cobra and taking pictures of themselves next to it, ignoring the Ferrari's, Lambo's, Maybeck's, etc. parked next to my car.
Never gets old, just puts a smile on my face.
Here's the group at Spanish Bay Resort drawing crowds

I have a theory that people acknowledge Cobras appreciatively because they recognise that it's a free spirit driving the car. A genuine enthusiast. A true individual.

Some day, I aim to be one of your number too.

I was driving early in the morning to the "Fabulous Fords" show at Knotts Berry Farm here in SoCal. In my rear view, I see a group of Mustangs coming up fast. Two GT350's and a GT 500, all 60's versions and obviously going the same place I was. They surrrounded my car, giving me the big "thumbs up" and stayed with me all the way there. I felt like I was being escorted or just made part of their "posse". Pretty cool.
