				 As fate would have it.....
I have a good friend who is Vice President of O&G Production of one of the largest independent oil and gas companies in America. The reason I am saying this is because I want to remove any thoughts of Being a REDNECK!
I am going to call him Brad because his real name is BRAD. So a few years ago my friend Brad decides to build a Cobra and after long consideration he chooses to buy an Everett Morrison because of the Stainless Steel frame and their overall quality product. Brads build progresses with somewhat steady progress however he was a long time getting his body delivered. Finally last January 2012 he received his long awaited body for his Cobra. Brad spent countless hours making sure every imperfection was addressed before it was ready for paint. The primered body was perfect!!

Last spring he chooses his color (candy apple red with silver stripes) but when his paint job is finished the color does not look quiet so candy but more fo a deep red. After a few days of grimacing he accepts the color because it was truely a beautiful color just not the candy apple he had thought it would be.

In late December 2012 he has the Cobra completely finished and ready for title and inspection. In January 2013 he applies for his title which he promptly receives in a couple of weeks. Now he is ready to drive the car of his dreams after several years work. However, aside from a few laps around his upscale neighborhood he has never had the Cobra on the streets of Tulsa. Did I mention his neighbors are not as enthused about his Cobra as he is? In fact he was stopped by one neighbor that questioned the cars legitimacy and wanted to know how often he planned to drive the beast!

But, I digress. February in Oklahoma is a mixed bag of weather sometimes it may be cold and other times the temp may be in the 70's which it was this past Tuesday. That would be the day he left a couple hours early from the office to go home and finally get his Cobra out on the streets for a little enjoyment and the expected thumbs us from those of us that truely appreciate the sounds the resonate from these wonderful cars. Well did I mention he also has a ranch just east of Tulsa near Grand Lake that he and his wife spend weekends at when life in the city gets too demanding. I am told they have some cattle, and maybe a horse or two plus a few other animals (I am sure).

At any rate when he arrived home to hop in his brand new Cobra with the mock Candy Apple paint job with Silver stripes he goes into his garage to find not one but a half dozen baby goats climbing all over his brand new Cobra with the Mock Candy Apple with Silver Stripes paint. His wonderful and beautiful wife had decided she would take these baby goats to their ranch this weekend to help with the ground cover. However, until then she was just going to leave them in their three car garage in an area she had blocked off away from the Cobra and Lexus I guess she didn't know that Goats like to jump and climb. Brads comments included something about GOAT STEW or GOAT BBQ...there were some other words mixed in his comments that were spoken at an elevated level that I wasn't sure exactly what order they came in but some were definetly repeated over and over.

So, you could be a REDNECK if when you want to take your favorite car for a ride, you have to shoo the goats off of it to get in.

I told him that "probably" ALL of those little scuffs and scratches should BUFF RIGHT OUT!! And that he was lucky they hadn't eaten the mirror off the dash or eaten his leather seats or something. He was not consolable!

Love ya Brad!! It will get better!

Clois

I'm sorry but the little woman and I would have to have a discussion on "priorities" and goats would cease to exist (most likely on a puff of pink mist) on my property. |

Oh man oh man, I bet his wife learnt herself some new redneck words.
Maybe someday he can look back on this and laugh. Someday.

Regarding Brad's next step - - Every time I damaged my engine I viewed that as an opportunity to both fix the problem and upgrade to better stuff. Perhaps Brad should view this misfortune as an excuse to redo the paint job to be closer to the color he really wanted.

After they had heard his sales pitch inside they said no thanks and he got up to leave. On the front porch they were treated to the sight of one of their goats having jumped up on the man's car and then convertible top - through which it's hoofs immediately cut though. The goat was belly down on his top with all four legs sticking through inside. No sale and not happy I'm sure.

I guess he will at least get a chance to reconsider the color now. |

I hadn't thought about the color change "opportunity" , his wife would have a hard time complaining about a re-paint!

Yes, he is still married and she is truely a great little woman that was just trying to solve another problem. I doubt if it ever occured to her that the goats would get out of their pen. I bet Brad is really thankful he didn't opt for the Kirkham...would have looked like he had been caught in a Hail storm.
