99.9% of the guys on here have fake cars so, in that regard, they're all the same. Some would laugh at what I paid for my car, others might say I got a deal. But, like you, it makes no difference to me. If you like what you bought, and feel you paid a fair price, then that's all you can ever ask. Life is too short to be irritated by the likes of Chas, RodKnock, et. al. They will only bring you down and stomp on your obviously high spirits. I think you did the right thing buying the car, I think it looks great, and I think there's a 50/50 chance it might be CSX car as well. I think it even looks better than Evan's, and I know he dropped six figures on his... so, with that in mind, I say "job well done."
ERA Chas and Bxx1 like this.

Way to go making a new guy feel welcome. Not all of you, just a couple of regulars.

He asked a simple question. "What the heck did I buy?"

He's not looking for advice on whether he paid too much, or trying to misrepresent the manufacturer of his car (he's only going by what the plate says and what he was told). He is just looking to get more info about the car he now owns. So, if you have any thoughts that could help him out, share them.

So how about we uncircle the wagons, put the dogs back in the pen and offer up some of that vast knowlege that we know is available on this forum?

I'm quite comfortable declaring it to be, maybe, a long lost CSX car, of some sort, and I'm sure Nedsel and Computerworks are right there in my corner on that.

Now I'm feeling left out of the inside jokes. What about me or mrmustang? Evan's clearly not paying attention, have you considered somehow mentioning Jamo?

No. There are differentiating levels, even when the cloak of "professional courtesy" is donned.

I don't understand the lawyer talk, but it seems to me that you think the car has an arruminum body like Evan's car.

Evan's car is actually aluminum-clad fiberglass but, be that as it may, I think jwilgie's car is even better than Evan's. The colors, and the lines, just seem to flow more naturally. I think more people would be drawn to jwilgie's car -- in fact, if both were put on the auction block today I would bet that the profit that jwilgie's car commanded would far outweigh that of Evan's. In fact, there might very well be a loss in store for ol' Evan (if he chooses to realize it, as RodKnock would say) and both, in my mind, are cut from the same CSX bolt of cloth....

Oh, I'm paying attention. I've just been laughing so hard I couldn't see the keyboard.

I agree. Long lost CSX for sure. Yep,definitely.

Maybe Bill could check my car as Patrick has me second guessing if I even have a CSX now.

Bill can I send you some frame pics? This whole thread has got me worried. Jeez what if? I'd have to change my user name and everything. How embarrassing.

Evan,

This is odd. I always thought that CSX4000 series cars had 4 inch ROUND tube frames, but apparently I was wrong.

Do you have frame pictures you could send to Bill for clarification?

An official Shelby publication clearly states that CSX4000 series cars have 4 inch SQUARE tube frames.

This is clearly too early to be one of ComputerWorks' April Fools jokes.

Someone should notify Wally Wyss, he may need to correct some of his paintings.

Evan,

I was in Warren on Friday around lunch, figured you were in the office so I did not PM you. Really want to take a look at your GT as I have not seen it up close and in person, but the shots your son took makes me want to.

Uh, no. I am not at all comfortable declaring this car to be a long-lost CSX car. It clearly is not.

... well, you never know, it could be a CSX car that is just cleverly disguised. Until we have Mr. Mustang examine it up close, we'll never know for sure....

MrMustang does not have to study it any further, the pictures posted clearly show it to be an early Unique (not a factory built unit though).

There, you see, Bill thinks it's likely to be a CSX car disguised as a home-brew Unique, too. Could be worth a fortune, I tell ya....

Did anyone else notice? Could Patrick name drop any more than he has: Computerworks, Jamo, Real1, ERAChas, RodKnock, Nedsel, MrMustang, etc.?

Geeez! I feel like I'm watching the official "Club Cobra Celebrity Death Match 2013!" This thread certainly strayed a little.....

jwilgie,

This group of guys is sort of like a fraternity. You'll get sh*t, even when you've been around a while. Just thicken your skin, dive right in (like you have), and don't give up. Once you're 'in', you will have earned the right to tell us what you really think. And by that time we will have grown on you like a fungus.
Nice work, for a first thread and all
