Here's a thought; in the fall, when you put a bag over its head, pull that lump out.
Send it to our pal Brent. Tell him to put a hydro roller in it (I know your SFT litany), CNC those Ede's with a decent profile, cut them to get a nice 10:1 and build a torque / cruiser mini-monster. Lose the 4160 for an 850.
And don't tell me you already have more than yada yada-you have no idea of the fun you're missing while on the way to the pedicurist.

Oh no. Please not the SFT diatribe.
And please not the "anymore HP will only make my tires spin" speech.
At this point, Patrick is obviously bored. He painted his wheels a different shade of beige/grey/taupe/mauve/brown and now he's making a new air cleaner lid with a new filter.
Here we go. Another ten pages of nothingness.

Well, I think I like the Xtreme Top Air Filter Top, but I'm not sure. I know I didn't like black, though. What do you think?

Address my suggestion please-it was a serious thought.

No, I don't want any changes to my engine. It's taken a few years, but it really is a wonderful, wonderful engine. What I would be more inclined to do is just have Brent build me a new FE, and it could be a bored and stroked 390 or 428, and let him build it his way. But I would want it complete from the pressure plate, clutch disk, flywheel, engine, starter, alternator, carb, up through the surge tank. Then I'd just swap it in one afternoon and keep my current engine over in the corner. The real truth is that I don't want any meaningful changes to my current engine (new air cleaners don't count).

OK that's valid. But I don't understand having a (presumed) more powerful engine built which is just a stronger version of your present combination. It's not like your block is valuable; why not use it as the basis for more torque? Lowering your costs in the process?
Other than some sentimentality you have for it...

Well, I don't really pay attention to the costs all that much. Mostly, I would be doing it out of boredom. But I will not put anything but an FE in that car.

My point is to stop the boredom by getting a COBRA to drive. You don't hafta 'Boy-Race' it.
So great, send Brent the lump and a deposit and tell him to call you when it's done. He knows you're not a 7000RPM, snap-shift guy.
