Huh, I always thought the distributor caps were black 
Here is a thread that discusses the clear puke tank tubes and a picture of a CSX 4000 car with them, but I can't seem to find a 3000 car with them. I'm sure Nick will step in with a pic.....

If you go the clear route, get the heat rated ones from McMaster, not "whatever your local hardware store has...."
