I lost track of them after that but somehow there has to be a connection to Ron Butler because the Butler cars are almost identical to my car with the exception of the roll bar which is distinctively Arntz, large with a forward brace attached to the floor on the passenger side.

Back to the glass, I'm not sure what you mean by the number on my glass. There is a small Royal Dalton label in the lower center of the windshield and if there is a number I will need stronger glasses to read it. The windshield was purchased around 1977 from G&R and I don't know where they got it. I'm sure from Kellison or the same supplier he was using. There can't have been many back then. Maybe Gimble as he was supplying original Cobra parts at that time. At this time I am still trying to locate glass that will fit.
You mentioned if I replaced the whole thing you would be interested in purchasing my frame but my question is what would you do for glass? Does the whole frame have to be removed from the car to replace the glass? Anything else you could do to help would be appreciated. I have just recently sold the car but I can't ship it to it's new owner until I get the windshield fixed. I am almost 100% sure that your windshield and mine are exactly the same. What year was your car built? Thanks for all your help, Clark
nice story......it's always interesting to hear about the inner and outer workings about jim kellison.
but back to the glass.....the daulton glass was original cobra, and i think AC ace also, maybe bristol but i can't verify that. the daulton number is 167.......i have searched for about 2 years for a piece of glass. you can trace the daulton assets thru two or three company mergers. ending up with viracon, but ultimately the profile is no longer produced. the new glass offered is slightly different, different enough that the original frame wont accept it.

so the short answer is you will have to replace the frame along with the glass, it will work and mount the same as yours now, and have the same lower body profile as your glass now. it extends about 6-8 inches into the cowl and has two bolts on each side. i have a PDF of it from kellisons manual so you can see the mechanics of it. just email me and i'll forward it to you

i have changed my frame and glass, well the previous owner did, i don't have the frame, thats why i would buy yours.........some day i will find the glass and be able to use the original frame. i just want to have the original frame for my car.....mine is a 1979, the kellison vin says 1978.you will have to contact shell valley and buy their assembly, the new frame won't have the bezel built into it at the body, some glass urethane works good to finish that off. send me some pics of your car would like to see it
