Thanks people..
the width top of the wheel well to top of wheel well.. with a tram..
is 5" 11.5"
So that how wide it is..
Will tram the wheel base again with someone helping me.. to be sure.. about the 90..
But it's no where near the 96" mark.. for sure.
And yes.. The glass is really thick..Like 1" on the edge.. thicker as the fender moves in..
I bet it's pretty heavy too. 2 guys couldn't lift this off the chassis, I don't think.
Yea this car was driven a while.. and in a different country I think..
Can you even buy bias ply tires like those anymore?
Frame looks like it had been painted red originally..
Boy.. I wish the maker put tags on these or something..
How do I go about finding doors and a hood for it? Any thoughts

An ERA is 70 inches wide at the rear so the width is not far off. With that and the wheelbase it doesn't appear to be a Kellison, West Coast, or a Stallion. No hood or doors huh - that will be a problem unless you can get an identity on it. If all else fails you may need to post the out to out dimensions of the door and hood openings and maybe some various model owners can match something up. A little fiberglass and filler work and anything can be made to fit.

Looking at the kit comparison pics on the ERA website.. The curve of the quarters.. where it meets the door looks to be the same.. the others look different..
I'm Leanin that way.. based on the input here and the pics..And their frame..

Looks like you can send in for registration and Vin info in CA .. stating you need the info for a number of reason.. I used safety, and recall info. Need to know manufacture of origin in order check recalls and safety information on the kit.. should fly. cost is $20.. and I'm sure it will take for ever..lol

About right front to back.. little small sided to side.. but it the bow angles that are all off.. the hood has a strong rounded curve to it,, mine would be less rounded.. more flat..
Here is the link to the hood I bought..

If you had a shot from the front looking down toward the foot boxes would help a lot. For now it looks like an early Everett Morrison. There were no other manufacturers I know of that made mounting flanges in the upper hood corners that were molded in. Most Cobras replicas maintain an original rounded look.
This body also favors the early Midstaes body. In 1986 Midstates created new molds that were really improved.
There was also a Canadian company that used MII suspension and had similar dash design. The dash is what throws me. Could be the original owner made a different one.
Do you know what motor was in it before?

You are into this for so cheap, you may consider buying a new complete body. You already have paper for registration, so this would'nt be an issue. I've seen very nice body packages for 5k or less. Another consideration is to make your own doors and hood. Frame it like an original and wrap it in fiberglass. You can do anything if you put your mind to it. Good luck.

Why not bend up a frame and make an aluminum hood for it?

Went to the Barrett Jackson Auction here in Vegas, Today. Cobras where everywhere.. real ones and kits.. as well as the csx kit ones.. Spoke to some guys from Superperfomance.. They may have been from Shelby..
Anyways They seem to think the kit is a factory five.. because of the external hinges on the trunk.. the ford front end.. They said to check the design of the frame.. which can change from each individual builder of the factory five frame. The seem VERY confident. I did not show them photos, and they said that they would not matter..
Thoughts on this? It has but me in some direction.. anyways..
Based on the hood I bought.. it is NOT a LA exotic..lol

Clearly you spoke with someone who was clueless, it is not a Factory Five.

No, not a Factory Five. Even the earliest ones had 4 inch round tube frames with a X-brace at the front for the front suspension, some parts of which could be salvaged from a newer (1982 on) Mustang front end (but not the entire front end and cross memeber.

Ok. then.. back to square one. will wait a bit for CA to get back to me..Also have a guy borrowing a hood from the Shelby factory to try.. if that is a bust.. it will be time to dump this project. I don't have the time to devote to a proprietary design project like this. I have 3 other muscle cars in pieces as well. One goes to paint this week.... just bought a new ram dually I want to do some things to, picked up a 38ft rv that needs some attention too.. Too many projects at once.. Maybe I'll just store it some where ...for now.
Just another mistake , I guess...
