Your Top Speed
Someone posted a 0-60 thread so here goes. What is your top speed that you have reached in your Cobra or any other vehicle you may want to post. Whether clocked from a timing organization or just going by your "accurate" speedometer. Doesn't matter if it was on a track or on the road.
I'll post mine in a few days.

I was passing three semis and 4 cars doing 55 on a two lane road and my speedometer went just a hair over 100. I know it's no big deal but it was fast enough for me and haven't done it since and no plans to do anymore. 209

Pretty fast
I did 115 at Road America during touring.
Hey, I was just trying to keep up with the Pace Car.
Big fun.

155 at Miller Motorsports Park. In my FFR with a pretty accurate programmable Autometer speedometer. So I'd say +/- 3mph?

140 is all she'll do with a 4 speed Toploader and a 3:73 rear end.

On Hwy 99 North of Bakersfield was three lanes narrowing down to two by losing the left lane where I was doing the flow of traffic about 85mph. Semi traffic to my right allowed for no lane change but I saw that I could move right if I stomped on it to get past the lead semi in the middle lane. I had never punched it in that car before and in a very loud jiffy I had moved over and the lead semi was way behind me. As I let off the pedal and looked down the speedo was dropping down through the 120's so I figure that we prolly hit 130 - I was unaware of how fast that could happen. It was a foolish mistake on my part and underscores what I've heard Cobra owners express as their car's mantra: "If you take me for granted, I'll kill you."

How many of you guys have spoilers under the front nose? I heard much over 135 and the front end gets light. I hit 130 at The Ridge in Shelton Washington.

Light...scary light...I seldom exceed 80mph in my car...with that short wheelbase and brick like aerodynamics that SOB starts to dart and lift around 85.... I have done around 140 in both Corvettes and Porsches and they are rock solid stable and very comfortable on the right road.
It is fun but IMHO not safe at high speeds...

All the more reason to respect the legends that drove the S**t out of these cars all day in racing, and sometimes all night. I can only imagine what a "white knuckle ride" that was back in the day. God Bless them all. They were fearless studs.
