I think that a unique motor are old as well.
I've sold two kit cars in to France in the past, unless things have changed in the last three years, I believe that the car needs to be titled as a 30+ year old car here in the states for it to get through customs properly. In fact there is a FFR that just sold on Ebay that is headed to France. Lime green one out of the Miami area.

So Bill to sell in France all that is required in a current tittle showing over 30 years old vs. a title or registration from over 30 years ago. Current title showing 1966 Cobra is OK for export to France. Several people that have contacted me from overseas regarding my car have specifically told me that current title is not enough proof for their government regarding importation.

Canada, Australia, Sweden, certain parts of Russia, are all countries that specify "proof of manufacture" and not just "titled as". France I am not certain as it has been 3 years and a lot has most likely changed since then. These changes are usually brought about by one person (remember how the downfall of Titles Unlimited happened in California) attempting to either register it as a classic, or not pay his/her proper share of the taxes. It forces the government to then carefully scrutinize any car of a similar nature coming in to their country.

Thanks for the clarification Bill. This sounds like a buyer beware situation. If they don't do it correctly they could be the proud owner of a car they couldn't get into their country or at least couldn't own as cheaply as anticipated after taxes and penalties.
