If you are running an electric fuel pump you really need an initeria switch. If you can't get one at the auto parts store or Ford, you can get on at a wrecking yard or post in the classifieds on the Cobra forums. Someone may have one sitting around.

It's just a plain old fuel pump inertia switch. Summit has this one, for example: http://www.summitracing.com/parts/sum-890145/overview/

you can buy one at the parts store. Ask for an inertia switch for a 1990 Mustang.

As I understand it, Ford uses inertia switches. GM uses oil pressure switches. Either will do, though an inertia switch makes more sense to me.

I used an oil pressure switch for years with no problem as it was set to shut the fuel pump off when the oil pressure fell below 10 pounds which is quite quick if you have a wreck. But the inertia switches weren't available back when I built my Cobra and had it. I believe I would have used one of them if I could have gotten one.

I have a inertia switch im my ffr it is located in the rear trunk on the far left side, I would think it would only cover you in a rear end collision?
I want to also install a low oil pressure fuel cut off, the last thing you need in a front end collision is to rupture a fuel line and have the electric pump continue to pump fuel?. Would a inertia switch trip if hit in the front?.

An intertia switch should work on any significant impact, front, rear, or side.
