That's why I refer to it as "hen's teeth". They're non existent. You just can't find one.
Take good care of it.

More rack progress photos

Eddies replica next to John's original. It's hard to tell in the photo but Eddies is not chromed yet

Great stuff guys. Any chance a guy could get the dimensions of the rack so I could build one myself? I made some original style hood/trunk hinges and couldn't find the proper radius dies (more like didn't want to spend the ridiculous prices for them) so I made a set of dies for my pipe bender for the hinge radius. Looks like it would be pretty close to those luggage carrier radius- I believe it is 2 1/4" CL radius. They work great and I made several sets of them for my car and a couple buddies' cars.

Great work guys, keep it up and posting pics also.

Bob

Just got my hands on some 1/2" Polished SS Instrument Tubing. Any chance of getting a few dimensions on the luggage rack?

Thanks in advance!

Looks Great, and better yet, since you have done all the hard work, how about selling them complete? I could get the chrome plating done, though SS Tubing might be better. In any event I would be a buyer!

Another small detail, Eddie moved the seat track adjusting handle on the drivers seat to the outside as per the original.

The ERA Narrow hip is back at my shop so I'll take a few more photos and post them tomorrow

What a great project. Love the look of the luggage rack. An old leather suitcase or wicker picnic basket would set it off nicely.

Any updates yet on the molding of the seat adjustment knobs?

Cheers
Greg

Now the fun really begines

Eddie started adding the BLING to the narrow hip and he just got his luggage rack back from being chrome plated

Beautiful - but I would have trouble drilling holes in the trunk lid of that beautiful car to mount the luggage rack. I couldn't even drill the fender to mount the rear view mirror on mine.

No qualm about drilling holes . Years ago one of my mentors said "You can't F anything up,all you can do is make more work for yourself"! Besides I know a good paint and body guy.

IMO this is what a street cobra should look like.

I can't take the credit on this project, all I did was paint it. Eddie Clarke was the mastermind and has done all the real hard work. It started with a 18 hours drive to Canada and he's still in pursuit.

Wellll, I have to say you did a little more than just paint it.

The attention to detail is seriously OCD - I can identify with that! I love those street Cobras - especially the narrow hip and the AC 289 Sports. Understated and subtle works for me. Great job Eddie and Ron.
