Cobra replacement parts needed
Hello gentlemen. I'm new to the forum and would appreciate the help of the experts on here.
A client of ours owns a Classic Roadster 427. I've done some reading and am aware of the stories. Their website is still up but as you all know there is no response. We've been asked to personalize the vehicle for the lady that owns it. We are changing interior and exterior, incl. adding a rollbar hoop.
I contacted Classic Roadsters to buy carpet and seats instead of getting them redone in different colors.
Therefore my question to the experts is this. Should I employ our upholstery shop to get this done or should we buy a ready made (possibly molded carpet set from one of the builders that would match this car's contours. Also she would like to add some sort of headrests to the vehicle. Are there seats that incorporate those or should we include it in the rollbar hoop?
Thank you for any and all suggestions.
Best Regards
Karl Troy

Karl Troy,
I had mine done by a local upholstery shop that matched the colors of my Cobra and it was not only better quality carpet than they offered back then, but it cost less. As for the headrests, yes there are several different model seats that you can use that have them built in or you can put the headrest on the roll bar like some do. One guy here had 6 way power Porsche seats in his with the headrests. That is one nice think about these cars, you can do about anything you want so far as modifications.

Thank you Ron for the prompt reply. I will take your recommendation. How about purchasing a rollbar hoop opposed to fabricating one? I've done it before for a Devin SS and I'd really rather not do it again.
Thank you.

You could try to buy a rollbar from one of the vendors on this site like Actoncustom or Finishline. Or you could call Peter at ERA replicas or David at Kirkham to see if they would sell you one of theirs. For any of these, the fit may be different and require some work on your part.

Spent some time fitting the Acton rollbar purchased from Mongoose. Spoke with Nick from Acton today and he was kind enough to email me some measurements as a baseline as this kit is different. Just wanted to thank both for their help and time. Very much appreciated.
Best regards
