Beating you would be fun, why don't you come out here, Willow Springs will be running this coming May with the Cobra club, if you are faster I'll pay your entry fee, in fact I'll pay your entry fee to get you out here.
My front tires are 315x30x18 and rears are 335x30x18 and I would estimate that I have 400 HP on you, I am pretty sure you won't be visible in my mirrors after 2 laps.

Yes, part of it is modern compounding but the steering response is so much more precise with low aspect ratio's I would never go back. There is also the problem of tire distortion under high loads
with large aspect ratios especially with poor suspension geometry. There is a reason that the automobile and tire companies gravitated toward larger wheel diameters, they are better.

No disrespect... I'm aware of Bruce's achievements (outstanding by the way), but I'll see your cobra god, and raise you Morris.

If you go 18's, do they make those chrome hooptie spinners for them?

18's on a Cobra look about the same as 26's on a Monte Carlo. Go with 15's for the best look.

I think the wording on the poll is kind of flawed.
It depends on what you are trying to do with your car.
I have 17's on my track car and 15's on my street car.
I think 15's look better but that car will never see the track.
17's perform better and allow bigger brakes too.

The poll is flawed because you can own more than one set of wheels.

I have to say I'm thinking the 15's look best to me personally. Luckily that is what I have, but as others have said maybe some 18's for the roadcourse or drags.

Well to clarify the question is really for the street. It's obvious the bigger wheels and tires would be better for the track.
So answer the question based soley on street driving.

Then 15s are sufficient. The reason I prefer 18s for track is the wide choice of R compound tires. Tire companies have mostly abandoned performance 15s.

Nonsense, a challenge was made 'mano a mano' so let 'em work it out on the track like real men.

I have 17s and I'm happy. I haven't kept up, and was not aware 18s were the new 17s. Too thin of a side wall does look a bit too modern for me.
As a side note I just replaced my back tires (imagine that!), got a smoking deal from a vendor and went to a Firestone store to have them mounted. My front tires are about a year and half old, installed by discount tire, and the steering wheel would get a slight vibration at speed. So I had Firestone re-balance the fronts as well. Took it for a test drive and guess what....steering wheel was rock solid through a range of freeway speeds.
