Georges shop is where the Flares came from , -- as well as the Lovers in the Hood, after that the similarity in cars ends, In total I think George made eight sets of flares and I think there are five or six cars that have them installed. ( hazy memory )
In our Coupes ; the Suspension we went back through , reviewed , -and updated every single piece to the best it could be -within reason- many things are generated to a higher standard, everything with all new updated hardware, beefed up suspension mounting points, upgraded heims, brakes, steering and suspension geometry changes to make the car even better and wring any possible demons out of the car.
In clarity; these were all updates that WE wanted to make the car do what WE wanted , and I feel that the SPF/ BROCK coupes were a starting place for me on where I could take the platform and what could we do, as you all know , no car is ever truly finished --- !!!
We engineered a set of Wilbers Shocks from Germany, which I now have as a template our Daytona Coupe Standard for cars available for cars ; 0006 to 149. -- My car #54 has a version thereof, and with Bruces work up and down mullholland as a test track, and me up and down highway 35 and 9 here - I can truthfully say that the cars now ride nicer and handles better than my C6 Z06.
The interesting thing is that the Tire package is no more so than on my #54 car, just Bruce's wheels and tires are indexed to have the track be wider front and rear -
Tire sizes - 275/35/18 Front , 315/30/18 Rear - track width is 3" front and 6" rear wider than my SPF coupe, or if you will - a 5% front , 10% rear track width increase on 139 vs 54/
As for wheels, they are a "Period Reminiscent" 21st century fabrication of the mind. - They were based on the Gurney Eagle Race car wheels ;
we spent many hours working on engineering the suspension , its travel, fit finish and the overall usability of the cars.
I have spent just about every available waking hour since early 2010 working on either the restoration of #54, or the upgrade of #139 to where it is now - we have gone so far into the platforms and supporting systems --that we have made it the best we can and to the highest standard possible.
Daytona Coupe Owners are all "Captured German Scientists" at heart, and I happy to say -- I am one of them.
