Default speedometer cable

Hi everybody, my name is Dan and i am in final stages of putting motor and trans in frame, i need help in finding a speedometer cable, the gauge i have is autometer-201005, this is the reverse drive and i do have the adaptor, it is going to a TKO600, i did search old post, but a lot are close to 10 years old and maybe parts are still the same, i just need a little help, thanks

you could try mark reynolds from breeze automotive he is located in massachusetts. I purchased my speedo cable from him back in 2005.

From Autometer's website regarding your specific speedometer:
Includes 5/8" - 18 threaded cable input with .104" square drive. Speedometer cable not included.
Reverse Rotation.


That's a generic cable size. It can usually be found at most auto parts stores, and is often sold under the help! brand. Last I bought one, it was about $5.00.

I have an Autometer gauge with a TKO 600 and I used a Mustang cable.
Take you reverse drive to the part store and ask for a '90 Mustang cable. see if it will attach to the drive. The trannie end of the cable should work.

Measure from the gauge to the trannie to get an idea of the rough lenght. I have seen cables wrapped around the trannie to eat up a foot or so.
