Actually, none of those were built on crashed race chassis. But let's not let the facts get in the way of a good story.

Ned, Do you have proof about them being built on new chassis? Would like to have it to show people this article is wrong! I have told people that about the wrecked chassis too! Thanks! Mark

I didn't want to start another thread but is this just a bunch of internet garble?

On this link read Rolli comment about Shelby and cougars? I don't recall any of this, however I have forgotten alot. If so probably an A.O. Smith car.

IMCDb.org: 1969 Mercury Cougar XR-7 in "On Her Majesty's Secret Service, 1969"

from James Bond thread '69 red cougar.....

rolli:
Carroll Shelby built 3 Cougars not for the public, they were actually built to appear in the 007 movie. One was an extremly rare Shelby --prepped Cougar and used by him personally for awhile ! O K one was blown up during filming , one is in England and the other rare classic cat is in Southern California and 4 sale ! for the right amount !!!!!
car is in original condition NICE !!!! 4 disc brakes W-428 Ram air , C G automatic full power !! P.S. P. B. A/C deluxe interior !! contact Shelby8@earthlink.net

It appears you do not have a Cobra Registry. They're in there.

The cars pictured were all built on new chassis. The Bordinat Cobra was CSX 3001, the Cougar II was CSX 2008, the 3055 chassis is identified in the photos, and the Ghia Cobra was CSX 3063. The article says several privateers used crashed race chassis to build up custom vehicles, but it's unclear who they are talking about, so it's impossible to identify them.
