Were Original Cobras Considered Kit Cars Way Back When?
I was reading a comment about a collection being sold off and the writer had no interest in Cobras because they were considered kit cars for years. Well was this the way they were viewed in the 60's and early 70's?
OK who has a dictionary(since some love to quote from them) and what is the definition of a kit car.
And no this is not one of those NYG thread that you like to call or a preemptive thread strike.

How could they?
They were sold complete.
And were perfectly legal.

"A writer" had no interest because Cobra's were considered kit cars?
First, instead of being lazy, can you please accurately quote or link the reference? Did you hear of bibliographies when you were in school?
Second, sure, while anything is possible (i.e., Cobra's were considered kit cars), 40-50 years ago, why is this a relevant topic to discuss today? This is a NYG-type post.

There manufacture certainly leans in that direction as defined via dictionary.
Arguments can be made.

Well then anything can be a kit.
A kit car is something you put together after purchase, no?
Was the Delorean a kit? Lotus Elise? The first Tesla?

Original Cobras were kits!

I am fully aware that Shelby sold a complete Car. Duh give me a break. But in the general public did many view the Cobra as a kit car.

Imitation is the sincerest form of flattery
But in this case, OR, was asking a legitimate question and the usual self appointed Cobra gatekeepers of this forum slam the thread and turn it personal.
Real discussions will turn to sheet if fiction dominates fact because the fiction guys have invested too much $$$ and time into a hobby with the wrong hot rods from the get go.
Have fun, appreciate and respect. It's just a hobby. The Aussie guys in this forum seem to get it.
Carry on.

First, the Aussie guys get IT, because they're filled with Foster's and rarely sober.
Second, Facts? What facts are quoted on any site on the Internets? Everyone just gives their opinions. Facts? No facts.
Third, buy a Registry. Or Trevor Legate's book. Read something and stop playing video games. Less opinions, more facts. Less filling, tastes great. :)
Fourth, Onyx doesn't even read his own posts.

I don`t remember any magazine or person refer,at that time,to the S/A Cobra as a kit car.
A British Allard was never considered a kit car and that was built before the Shelby.
