you will all laugh
You know the one thing I really wish my Cobra had. It is something that once you have had it, you cannot do without it . . . . . . . . . . . A BACKUP CAMERA !!!
. |
So.... put one in! Can't be that hard to do.
|
|
I've thought of that and will probably do it, but not for concern of backing into anything :)

Well, if it is not an original Cobra, it is no big deal. probably get some $$ back if or when u sell your hot rod.
|
What??????????????
You've got to be joking. If you turn around, you can probably reach halfway down the trunk, and YOU need a camera?
|
I really don't see the need for one in a cobra... I mean some cars are tough. My wifes Lexus Suv use to be a Son of a ...gun.
|
I dunno . . . I just love the frikin thing in my daily driver. You can see the whole ground behind the car and it is a panoramic lens. Instead of having to twist around and look left and then right over and over again as you back up (and never seeing the ground behind the car at all) you just stare at this nice little color high def screen right there in front of you. It shows everything :p
. |
See the ground?
What the heck you missing on the ground,,,,, a lost quarter? What's so interesting, and I can't wait to get a panoramic view of asphalt, be still my heart!
Are we getting that lazy that we're going to complain about looking over your shoulder, and possibly having to twist. Sounds like to me you need a Motorhome with side pipes and a rear camera, just think, you'll have that exciting view, and some microwave popcorn and a drink of Metamucil in your cupholder, makes for an exciting drive, with no physical effort. |

Other suggested improvements.
Cup holders. Heated/cooled seats and multi-adjustable. Convert to electric powered of course. Trunk conversion to rumble seat. Arm rests. Nav. You have a screen for it now. Trailer hitch. Wider side views to help. Proximity sensors to go with backup camera. |
A friend of mine didn't have a backup camera in his Cobra but it wasn't a Cobra to me. He had everything else in it. Six way power seats, a $8K sound system, remote control starter and doors, a screen with a 6 DVD player so he could watch movies, and some other smaller things. I asked him if he was building a car or a rolling theater and he got upset, but to me that just wasn't a Cobra of any kind.
Ron  |
Not for me either, we certainly knew what some of the responses would be.
My solution has been changing the rearview and fender mirrors to something that actually works |
I have a back up camera in my pick up truck, it looks like it is mounted on the ball that hooks into my trailers, it's awesome when hooking up. I guess if I put a hitch on my Cobra I will put a camera in her.

Do you need a back up camera? No, of course not. But do you want one?
Do need a Roadster that will do 145mph? No, of course not. But do you want one? What are you, stupid? ;) |
Keeping it raw is a huge part of what makes it fun for me.
Do you have neck problems, Ed? Personally, I love being able to glance back and make a lane change with a little blast. GT40? Now that's a different story. Those are hard. |
my car is raw. I don't even have heat. I would not actually put a bu camera in, but I do love it in my daily driver.
|
Yeah, I am thinking of installing a sneeze proof windshield and also dual colostomy bags , I have the Chrome fender dents installed but to busy to finish them .
|
I want double overhead dual reclining cassette decks in mine. I don't like rear camera, as you don't look around enough. As you reverse and turn, concentrating on the screen, you hit a pole with your front fender. Been there done it in a hire van.
