I have a blue windbreaker with "Cobra - Powered by Ford" on it. I'm trying to find out more about it. does anybody have any info about it?
Thanks.

It looks to be old but I don't recall seeing "Powered By Ford" on any original team apparel.
Could be that I've just not noticed that before though. Does it have anyones name embroidered on the front?

There is no name on it but I got it from Robert Lee, who used to work for Shelby building Cobras and GTs. He didn't tell me the story behind it and he passed on a few years ago so I'm looking to the experts.
I believe he once showed me a picture of a pit crew wearing the jackets but I can't seem to find it on the internet.

I have a Shelby Team Jacket and it is blue with just Cobra on the back and a Cobra Emblem on the left sleeve. It also has the Shelby logo on the right front near where a pocket top would be. I have seen pictures of this jacket being worn by the Shelby team members. But the one you have could have also been one they wore as it is close.

I remember reading somewhere that Shelby provided apparel to employees and all had their names embroidered on the front and Dave Friedman confirmed that to be true.
I can't remember where I read that though and I'm sure no expert on Shelby team clothing!

Default Bob Lee, he helped build your cars

The windbreaker came from an interesting person, Robert E. Lee, of Cameron Park, CA. He had worked at the Venice and West Imperial Highway Shelby facilities as a very young man and was driving to attend a Shelby Employee's Reunion when he was killed in an auto accident. Later in life, he was a private and commercial airline pilot who flew the Shah's gold out of Iran in sewing machine boxes. He also flew The Rat Pack and other celebrities as Kirk Kerkorian's private pilot for a number of years and then flew for World Airway's until his retirement. He was a life-long 'car guy' and I loved going to car shows and concours with him. He is missed.
See the attachment of Bob and his dog, Casey, if you think you might have known him.
