Why don't you put me on ignore and save the BS for another.

I tried to expedite his membership some days ago to help him out. Also all the Challenger intel is relevant to this new member because he owns two SRT Challengers. I mention this as a welcome to this board. Go be a troll elsewhere. Bad enough you make your childish comment and even worse to waste my time responding to ignorance.

SFSDFGT,
Congrats on your new ride.
Pay no mind to critics. As long as your car is mechanically sound, drive it as is. who cares if the fuel line is braided instead of hard steel. Let the next guy pay for it. just drive.
Your biggest critics on this forum don't even own Cobras but they sure know how to spend your money. Heck, they will even teach u how to wash a Cobra.
Anyways, welcome abroad. It is only a madness if you take it too seriously. Otherwise, it is a fun hobby with miles of smiles, thumbs up, and u can say without stutter, "yes, this is a real Cobra."

This sounds like sage advice to me...
...and yes, indeed, Welcome!
Oh, and one more tip... steer clear of any of my advice and you'll do fine.
Enjoy

Welcome abroad? Is he going to Europe or something?
"Pay no mind"? Really, this comes from a Nissan Leaf owner, who someday, 2 years from now maybe, wants to buy a replica Porsche 550 Spyder to carry his heavy pet food bags from Petco instead of taking them on the NY subway and yet finds the time to post on a Cobra forum in between the exhausting hours he spends watching the Tour De France on TV.
As for the advice, the new owner had questions, I stepped up and answered them.
Who cares about fuel line? Uh, well an owner who's concerned about increasing the resale value of his Shelby Cobra that he just bought "under market." That's who.
Who cares about tires? Uh, someone concerned about their safety in a light car with lots of HP on terrible tires.
As for the thread on washing your Cobra, I assume most of us that take care of our Cobras, especially new owners who have not washed an open cockpit car before, may need help/advice washing them.
And the "this is a real Cobra" comment is not cool. And you know why.
NYG, here's some more advice for you. Move along to the Beck Spyder forum that someone gave the link to you a week or two ago. And talk some smack about VW vs. Subaru engines.

Rodknock: While NYGUY deserved a kick in the pants in past for previous posts and "threads" he started his last post was a good one.
#1. Whats wrong with saying welcome aboard. Its a common welcome. I used it myself.
#2. You are reading way too much into his comment on the fuel lines I think. My read on it is all he meant was to just enjoy the car and worry about "aesthetics" later.
#3. I don't see where he commented on the tire issue. Maybe I missed that one. If he did you could merely point out the real safety issue with the BFG's. No need to attack.
#4. He likes 550 Spyders. So? He obviously likes Cobras too and has an interest them.
#5. He drives a Nissan. No doubt many others here do too. So what ...again.
#6. As to washing Cobras, ....I've never washed mine so maybe you could edjamacate me on that subject.
#7. The OP commented on his dream of owning an aluminum bodied Shelby Cobra one day. Whats uncool about NYGUYs comment that he can say it's a real Cobra? It's factually accurate and true. That is very cool part of owning a Continuation Shelby Cobra and obviously part of his dream. Why should others here pee in Cornflakes when its legally and factually true just because this accurate comment offends the sour grapes crowd.
Grow up. They can grow up too.
SFSDFGT: Enjoy your Shelby Cobra and your dream of acquiring a genuine Cobra and on top of it an aluminum bodied variant at a fantastic number. Kudos to you!!!

Many thanks to everybody for the welcome, and for all of the good advice. I am taking it all in. Good to see people here do have a great sense of humor.
I hope to have the car in my possession in the next couple of weeks. I will take it slow, get to know the car, mull things over before I make any many major decisions on changes. I will just read, listen, and learn for a while. Hopefully within the year I can be making valuable contributions to somebody else's thread.

Next post that contains anything approaching criticism of another person's post gets its author a free vacation.

Oh boy.....lol honestly I was going to post about your original comment/warning to SFSDFGT about new members. Well I'm on vacation so I will risk a free vacation. Dam Jamo guess my free giveaway did catch on after all.
I communicate with collectors on a weekly basis and only can speak for myself. We keep moving forward in a positive manner whether at 200 mph or coasting but always in a forward direction chewing up more ground so to speak. Whether original Cobra owners, small collectors or big collectors we don't like to engage in the negative. You can see this in SFSDFGT's first post because they don't want to become a target. Target for foolishness, target for carjack, target in general. You can see this also in the CSX 1000 thread with Mullen. MrMustang well....he's being MrMustang and Mullen makes it clear his intentions to put out intel and not meant to argue. These two members(Mullen & SFSDFGT) will not engage some of the nonsense that goes on here.
Just my viewpoint Chief.
When I read the post about this Cobra I went hell this guy is going to buy this blind without checking up with an expert and I inquired about the purchase. Sales guy said he had someone looking at it that day. Hell if I was going to cut someone at the knees and prevent them from their dream purchase. If I had made the purchase it would sit for at least a year or two. My original purpose on this site was in order to gather intel and make a tribute NAVSOC/NSWC Cobra and give it to the guys at Coronado. (For those that do not know U.S. Naval Special Warfare Command.) That tribute might end up as a Pagini since the world headquarters are now located in the US or a commissioned series 7 Jaguar F.
SFSDFGT I float around like the wind and I sort of suck up all the intel out there and yes I came across your posts on the hellcat thread. Good luck with the Cobra.
OMG if I had purchased this cobra Real1 and StormBringer would have something in common. Must have bumped my head this week.
But remember guys these men do not dwell in the negative and sort of live the philosophy of well I keep buying cars so I must build bigger/more garages.
Have a wonderful weekend everybody....now for the German Grand Prix practice and my children.

Edit: Any tire experts here just send me a PM. I have a question on tires but not for a Cobra.
.....

Re Coronado...daughter worked across the bay with the dolphins and the other navy seals.
If Armenia...BYOD (bring your own donkey) for ground transportation.
Extremely low fares for flights into Ukraine right now.
