Hi Guys what should the oil pressure be for this engine? at idle im around 25 lbs. cruising speed 42 lbs when at water temp is at 85c . using 10-30 . oil level is good too.
with 10W30 thats pretty good. I would say anything over 20 psig at idle (800 rpm) and anything over 50 psig above 5k rpm's. be careful when people say "idle" some mean 800 rpm, some mean 1000 rpm, some mean who knows...

Different engine, builder, parts, and assembly - but that's pretty much what my stroked 428 KC motor runs on 10W-30 Joe Gibbs oil. About 20 psi at idle hot (900 rpm) and about 50 by 3000 rpm. I haven't watched closely to see where it appears the pressure relief is opening at but I think it's around 55 psi or so. KC has suggested I go to 20W-50 in the summer,
