Thank you.

They are still working out some bugs with the ignition. We believe they might be coil related.

It has a Joe Hunt magneto "look" distributor that has a coil installed internally. We are modifying the the Hunt distributor and using an external coil installed behind the dashboard. We will hide the coil wire in polished stainless steel tubing running down the center of the intake.

Ya know. For a thread about Cammers in Cobras, we don't have a lot gratuitous pics of like, say, Cammer Cobras.

Huhh, because there aren't many. I can only think of two, an original previously mentioned, and a beautiful green ERA with stacks.

I might start an engine install thread, with a follow up on painting the car blue.

That engine would not look right in a scratched up bare aluminum car.

Damage and Jay Leno have cammers.

And I know that there's black CSX4000 out there with one.

Possibilities are weight, width, it was banned by NASCAR and USAC, and probably would have been banned in any class Shelby would have wanted to enter the Cobra in.

If someone could just build an all new aluminum 427 FE Cammer that's reliable, gets 15-20mpg +/-, quiet enough to hear my Alpine stereo and passenger speak, but loud enough to scare the crap out of pedestrians and other cars, then you would have something I could buy, of course, assuming it was under $20,000.

Well, Roddo, if that's all you're asking for, then you'll never get that Cammer.

If I was Patrick, I'd accuse you of 'self-selecting-out' while trying to save face.

"Never" may be too soon for me.

I think I'm "passed my prime", in terms of seeing another engine build and R&R in my Cobra. I think if I were willing to take the $50,000-$75,000 gamble on a Cammer build and install, then I might as well buy shares in SNAP.

It's the one on the right.
The color coded wheels are a dead giveaway.

Not FE or 427 CID, but you might want to check this out:

That has to be the most beautiful engine I ever saw.

BTW - Freddie's is all but closed. Rumor has it he cannot renew his liquor licenses, for tax reasons. Hope he gets things straightened out.

It takes a lot of engineering and not just reconfiguring footboxes to put a cammer in a GT40. I know because my GT40 has one in it.
