Default Narrow A arms

I used narrowed tubular upper and lower A arms that were 1" narrower. They do clear the stock upper mustang spring pockets as they travel. The upper spring pockets were cut out at the top and brackets welded on for the coilover shocks. I also did away with the stock strut support arms and went with the heidts tubular struts that have brackets that weld on for the poly bushed pivot end. I did have to shorten the heidts struts to match up to the lower A arm pivot point points. I believe there are lower A arms that don't require a strut, I just wanted the extra support. I also run Must II spindles and Granada rotors with GM calipers. Not sure of the wheel offset but my tires are well within the fenders. My wheels bolt on.

The Granada rotors are used because the bearing sizes are similar to Mustang II. When installed with the stock Mustang II lower control arms, the rotors are very close to the lower ball joint, if necessary grind for clearance. I think the rotors themselves increase the track witdthy a small amount. The knock off adapters alone add 3/8" width per side to the track (not including any + or - wheel offset. Removal of 3/8" (safely) off the wheel pad will help. But as I said befor the scrub radius cannot be overcome.

Rick, what is the scrub radius and what is the "wheel pad" that you mentioned you removed 3/8" from?

The wheel mounting pad is the back suface of the rim that contacts the adapter, the round sleeeve nuts fit into the holes of the wheel at the mounting pad. No material should be removed from the adapter for structural and safety reasons, but some can be removed (within reason) from the wheel, I'm sure there is a safe minium dimension however. The wheel manufacturer can advise how much material can be removed. Material is removed from the wheel as part of the manufacturing process to arrive a correct dimension for varying setups.

That's an interesting explanation of scrub radius. It seems pretty complicated for a car that will be street driven with little or no track time. I can talk to Vintage about removing material from the mounting pad, but I bet it is not an option or Bob would have mentioned it. Thanks for ideas though. Time to research shorter A arms.
