Well that sucks. It's interesting to see comments from people all over the US and from around the world saying what a sincere and nice guy he was. Always happy to assist.
RIP. |
I am stunned.

Rick Parker
Rick Parker was my husband of 41 years. He loved the Club Cobra Website and would be thrilled to know that he was being remembered in such glowing terms.
All the kind comments will be cherished memories for me. Thank you so much. |
Kathy,
So sorry for your loss. I think I can speak for most, if not all of the members here that if you need anything during these trying times, just let us know. He will be missed by all of us. God Bless. |
Kathy,
I have not been on this site in a long time but when I heard about Rick it broke my heart. I have known him for quite a while and received a lot of help from him. Rick was the best. My girlfriend and I send you our sincere condolences. Rick is and will be missed. |
Justin, Rick's son here
Hi everyone,
My name is Justin and Rick was my Father. It's incredible to see the outpouring of good words about my Father, and to know he touched so many of you in a positive way makes my heart smile. He was a wonderful husband to my Mom Kathy and a great Dad who busted his ass to provide for us. He was my hero and taught me everything growing up. How to play catch, what it felt like to be pelted with a baseball (thanks Dad!), taught me how to drive and taught me how to wrench at a young age, which backfired when I tore down the lawnmower at age five. Oops? It was deemed easier to simply buy another. Same outcome for Mom's bike. You'd think by this point he would have locked the toolbox? Mom and I miss him terribly. He had been diagnosed with what we thought was minor heart issues and had an appointment at UCSF for a more in-depth look at his ticker. Unfortunately, he won't be making that appointment. The morning this happened, Saturday, 11-15-14, after talking to Craig he was working to safety wire up some fasteners on the steering rack. I checked on his progress tonight (yes I will work to get his car completed in his honor) and it appears he was putting the finishing touches on everything. Just need to drop in the radiator, degas tank and reinstall the steering wheel and it should be completed (are our cars EVER complete?) my intentions are to take Dad for one last ride (he's being cremated) the day we gather to celebrate his life. Mom and I are aiming to get everyone together Saturday, December 6th, to share tales and stories about my Dad. This will be in Modesto, CA 95350. Everyone is welcome and weather permitting bringing out the Snakes is highly encouraged. Dad was very much loved by all. Those he worked with, those he fished with, those he bench-raced with and this thread alone is evidence of this. I truly appreciate everyone taking a moment to speak about my Father. Again, knowing he was so very known by people across the state, country and globe simply boggles my mind, however it doesn't really surprise me. He'd give a stranger the shirt off his back. I'm gonna miss you Dad - Love, Your Pal |
Justin and Kathy,
Thanks for taking the time to pop in and introduce yourselves. Rick was on ClubCobra so often giving great advice to so many, how did you ever get him off the computer??? :) I wish you the very best at a difficult time. |
Very sorry to hear of Ricks passing, a lot of knowledge and great participant.
RIP |
Justin & Kathy, thanks for your heartfelt posts ... and for sharing some more of Rick's amazing life with his friends and admirers. Your loss is immeasurable. I started my morning with a tear in my eye...
Justin, it's great to see that the apple didn't fall far from the tree too. Kathy, thanks for the "like" for each and every post about Rick, such a loving family. Dave |
Rick sold me the crank pulley for my car. We discussed many of my car issues, in depth. I had planned to meet him in person at a kit car show, a few years back. We got the weekends mixed up & it didn't happen. It's great that you both have posted here, reaffirming what we all knew about Rick. I'm sorry that I didn't get to meet him in person & I will, & do, always think him when I open the hood & look down at that part. Probably, even when I drive the car. He'll sadly be missed at this site, as well.

Rick was always a help for sure, still stunned.
RIP |
Man, I'm so sorry to hear this...That's a great post about your dad Justin. I lost my dad just five months ago, and reading your post brings tears to my eyes. Everything you talked of your dad reminds me of the same of mine. It was tough to read.
Take care and god bless, Tim |
Never had the pleasure to meet Rick in person, but we conversed over the years through clubcobra. His vast knowledge and ready willingness to help anybody who asked will be sorely missed.
So sorry for your loss. Jeff |

I am shocked. Rick was a cornerstone of this forum.
Rest in Peace Rick!!!!!!!! |
I can't claim to have known Rick, but he was the first member to PM me with some advice when I joined the forum years ago.
My sincerest heart felt condolences to Kathy, Justin and his many friends. Paul |
Kathy,
While I did not know Rick and being newer member here, he was very helpful and friendly. His easy going nature made it seem like I had known him for longer. May God give you grace and peace and comfort you heart. Phil |
I didn't know Rick either, but we exchanged some PM's over the years. He was always a very helpful and kind person.
Dear Rick, rest in peace. To Rick's friends and family, my sincerest condolences. |
Life has been coming at me very fast lately, and I have not logged on for a while. I am very sorry to read this. Rick helped me with a tip or two at different times. He was one of the guys that if a saw his post I always read it, because I might learn something. This is so sad.
