Glad to see it's not all Vaporware, but I still gotta wonder, where are the pictures of those 150 cars and why didn't they use them instead of swiping pics of Kirkhams and FFRs?
I've got to agree with this. 150 cars in Brazil, yet not a single one has ever surfaced? The Cobra community isn't very big, but the market for them is world wide. You'd think one of them would have surfaced to at least one person who is a member here.

But finally we also saw one of the Porsche's. And I have to say it look sweet!

That's an excellent question. For reference, the original 1960's series of cars were 0.050" thick. And the Kirkham/Shelby alloy bodies are 0.059" thick.

Please excuse me, I'm quoting myself, but a question was posed earlier, which never was answered.

What gauge aluminum does Alloycars use?

The Kirkham comes with a 28 gallon stanless steel fuel tank, the Alloycars Cobra comes with "fuel tank."

What type of dash gauges do you get with Alloycars?

The Kirkham provides you with their very reliable Speedhut gauges. Alloycars states that you get "gauges, full set."

Gages should be the same as FFR supplies which are also Speedhut. My FFR came with a Fuel Safe, but I don't know what they supply these days.

As was stated earlier on, they were not very accurate and they do not want them confused with the new product.

Then I don't think I would have bragged about it. So as it stands they have a couple fenders and a car someone else made. Some folks here are getting awfully excited about very little....Best of luck to AC and their customers.

What's the car someone else made? Who made it?

+1. And I'm sure I missed the reference to the inaccuracy of the 150 Brazilian Cobras.

Well, it's certainly "a" marketing effort thus far. Congrats to Cobra Dan for making the trip, but call me skeptical until some actual production Cobras are built and sold to actual customers who will actually document their efforts here on CC.

Clearly you did. It was stated more than once that it was based on a poorly made, unfinished 'glass kit which was all they could get their hands on there at the time. Are you two suggesting someone else made the FFR MKll alloy body that's being shown, or am I missing something now?

What's the car someone else made? Who made it?

This car

The one that's supposed to be 'scraped' at some point. A MKII FFR chassis with a Kirkham body mounted on it. That was done at Factory Five and later sold a few times. They did have pictures of incomplete aluminum cars with some funky over-sized flares on the rear. I suppose those were the South American cars?

I'm going to correct myself because in reviewing the pics I see what looks like nearly complete Cobra bodies. Apparently they have more than a couple fenders completed. My skepticism remain given their previous behavior.

All the pictures that Dave took including this one (at the top of this page) is taken from a FFR MKII & is now Alloycars creation in aluminum. The picture that Maricopa posted below is the Kirkham body that was put on a FFR & if it was about 10 years ago this happened, I'm sure it was also on a FFR MKII frame.

I'm here to only answer questions of those that can read & I'm really getting tired of the members who are out only to create grief, give me a break.

This is an open forum called "Cobra Talk." And I'm very sorry that you think I'm here to "create grief." I can only see what everyone else can see, which is considered light on evidence at this stage. I have no bias other than the fact that I get tired of folks who post "The Truth" on the Internet and provide minimal support to their "cause."

When Alloycars gets a FFR MKIV body and builds a Cobra, which is then sold to an independent 3rd party ("arm's length transaction"), who then provides their independent reviews of the Alloycars product, then I will try to be one of the first people to post a sincere congratulations and welcome to the alloy body club. And hopefully, there will be #2 and #3 and so on.

However, as of right now, I feel a bit like the movie character "Dave Skylark" (actor James Franco) from the movie "The Interview" (or maybe Seth Rogen's character), as he receives various gifts from the person whom he plans to interview, including a cute little puppy.

Dan - I realize that. I was reacting to people's blind insistence that it is a Kirkham body when by looking at it its clearly based on an old generation FFR body shape.

Find it yourself. Not hat important to me. It resides in the locked down threads. I just commented for the sake of clarification. No intention of cluttering up this thread with petty arguments.

You have the burden of proof, since it's your claim that it exists. But whatever.
