Well that was easy enough !! It's an SPF mk III, sn 16xx, probably built before the license agreement with Shelby. I would say that the only "true continuation" car would be the Shelby models, not the licensed spf's, nice as they are.

Sure Bill,
most in that ebay ad was taken from the manufacture website and magazine statements.
Let's be honest - Shelby redesigned the Cobra, and assembled the car here in the states.
Today you would name it a components car.
Nerveless he created an Icon - no doubt about it. But when Superformance
brags about build under license - let them have it.
Everyone who made with Carroll deals - got under or a thicker skin, that is fact.
....and actually, it is pretty fair from the seller to encourage a research on that particular car and read whatever you can about before you do a bid.
The real question is (at least for me) "If my daughter want that car, would I keep her from buying that car"?
No.
Many, many other Cobras- yes!

So I think that congress ought to pass a law that all Cobra sales have to be cleared by a board of people from this forum that pass judgement on wording and get to vote on the quality and value of the car. It would immediately go to the supreme court which based on their two votes of non-constitutional issues might even get by them.
Geez.
Get over it.

Geez sounds like you need to get over it. What else does the Supreme Court do, but rule on constitutional issues.

I'll expand,
Outrageous comments such as the seller makes (his car produced long before the license agreement between SPF/Shelby in this case) require some type of response, as such, I made this post. Kind of like those who have a donor Mustang motor in their cars, add an intake, and larger throttle body and make claims of "estimated 500hp and the rear wheels" as if it adds credability to the car in search of a sucker to bite on the worm he dangled in front of them.
As for a rats ass, let me be the first to say, you'll never have to worry about ever being accused of having one , or being one . Yes, really

This ad seems less outrageous to me than a lot I have seen, and a lot that have been discussed here on the site. I guess the snake oil goes with the cars. Lets call it a homage (continuation?!?) to the original slippery snake salesman--and his potent snake oil sales abilities--that helped so much is getting the cars into (and thru) production in the first place!

People make outrageous and incorrect statements all the time in ads. Its incumbent upon you to do the research. If You do the research as the advertiser has invited you do you will quickly learn the car for sale is not a "continuation" but merely a super formance built under license by Shelby American in that much of the ad is a bunch of hyperbole

Well,it is well within the limits of " internet embellishment" no question. Lets remember, there are kits and components out there that arguably , also, push the limit of what might arguably be considered a " cobra" . That said, is there some new internet sales description police entity recently that's come to power I should be made aware of?

I kind of get things like this, but it seems so dumb. What do they care?
