Default Tire lettering - Help me decide

These are Tredwear letters temporarily taped to my tire. Obviously they'd be white once the protective coating is removed. I'm not sure what I think...

I felt the same way and sent mine back for a refund. I like the Goodyear lettering though. Probably because there are more letters and looks period correct.

What tires are those? Have a very smooth / clean sidewall.

If I were going to letter them, I'd go with the Good Year lettering. More letters and balance.

They're Avon.

Default Tire lettering-help me decide

I think those letters look too large. I just installed the Goodyear vintage billboard look from tredwear and they are smaller and look to me to be more authentic looking maybe due to their size?

Rjw289, would you please post pics including close-ups and 3/4 views so that we can see the final result? Would equally like to see pics that show how thick they sit on the tire, as well as details on the base tires you used. Thanks.

Default Tire lettering-help me decide

Sorry trying to figure out how to do this. Tires are 7.5 and 9.5 x15s I believe and are BF Goodrich Radial TAs. I sanded the BF Goodrich off and did not install the EAGLE adhesives

Thank you for posting a couple pics. What did you use (materials/technique) to shave/remove the lettering from the sidewalls without compromising the sidewall or leaving obvious marks? Also, how thick are the letters compared to a normal Billboard (which are quite sedate/thin)?

Silly question, I'd love a blue stripe on the Avon tire, is there anyone that could do this?

Personally I like it.
Mine are pretty much exactly the same, but on a SC car with side pipes.
However they may look a little lonely on a car with under carriage exhaust.
Just my 2cents.

This is a set that our shop offers....these were done on a set of BF Goodrich TAs. I prefer the AVON tires though:

Wow, are those Avons? I'd just like the blue stripe on a set.

I put the Tredware letters on my Avons. I prefer Avon letters on the Avon tires. But that's just me.

That BDR looks good. I'm considering purchasing a smaller letter set... Maybe 2" instead of 3".

BF Goodrich TAs on the FIA Cobra above. I prefer the same GOODYEAR treatment done on the AVONS as the AVONS have the proper aspect ratio and tread and vintage tread design.

ACademic- I used some fine sand paper on a small handheld sander and used it very lightly only where I was placing the Goodyear adhesives. Very easy to do to. They are of course a little thicker due to being made out of rubber. Have had a lot of compliments thus far. Keep in mind that they are permanent though.

Did you paint it on the tires or is it a set like the one from TredWear?
It looks great!

Similar to tredwear but with a special paint for the blue stripe.
