I'm pretty sure the location is Lew Spenser's British Car service/dealership in 1961 in LA California.

Lew Spencer (standing to Shelby's right) was the Morgan West Coast distributor/dealer in the early 60's, a friend and fellow racer of Shelby's.

He raced a blue '61 Morgan called the Baby Doll Special.

That Morgan in the background was probably a '61.

If the woman is Joan Sherman, the time period would be late 1961 or early 1962, perhaps just months or weeks before the Feb '62 first Cobra build at Dean Moon's shop.

Now the cars in the corner of the garage hiding behind the Cadillac.

Keep in mind Shelby had bee a race driver for Lucky Casner's Team Camoradi racing team driving Type 60 and Type 61 Birdcage Maseratis in 1960 and 1961. Cars were raced predominenily in white but also in red.

After winning the 1961 National Championship, Shelby, uum, "stored" the cars somewhere because he wanted them. They were later "unstored" by Maserati.

We're seeing two cars in the corner behind the Caddy. See pic

The tail of a white car which could be the back end of a type 60 Birdcage and a the front end of a red car (high pontoon fenders ) which could be a type 61, both of which Shelby raced.

My best guesses.

Cheers
Greg
