I've got an HID kit on mine and there's a ton of light scatter that tends to blind oncoming drivers.

I bought the kit from Keith Craft several years ago. I contacted them about the problem and they would do nothing about it and walked away from any responsibility.

I would not recommend the conversion.

In simple terms, putting a light source into a reflector / lens combo not designed for it is going to create problems - not the least of which are glare and scatter. As you pointed out, that tends to blind oncoming drivers - a highly undesirable outcome.

A few years ago there were stories in mainstream media about how Nissan Maximas were the target of thieves due to the fact every Maxima had HID headlamps. The headlight assemblies were then gutted for the HID lamps and sold for installation in a variety of cars they were never designed for. It got so bad Nissan created a: a) repair kit for wiring damage during theft; and b) headlight anti-theft kit. Yikes.
