Forget "manufacturers suggested retail price" although many will sell for MSRP then get the power train for retail.

A better comparison would be CSX6124 sold at Barrett Jackson (Vegas) a few weeks ago for 134.2K. That was a brand new car with a period correct 427FE.

For more info see my post elsewhere with the real market data from the auction.

Every time I turn around Evan's car loses value, now his appraised value is market value + $105,800

Me too. He forgot my comparison was against a fiberglass car. I'm afraid that Even's replacement cost might be a little light these days.

I haven't seen any alloy CSX 4000/6000/7000/8000 for $240,000. If I were Evan, I'd sell at $240,000 all day long and twice on Tuesdays. If you can find any sales publicly verifiable over $200K, please post a link.

Hillbank always has a few for sale asking $160,000-199,0000.

Now the CSX 1000 and CSX Resurrection Series, yes, over $200,000.
